Modern villa Antwerpse Kempen

One with nature

At a prime location in the Antwerp Kempen, we realized a new-build home where the entire interior is dominated by the relationship inside-out. The client; a young family with two children wanted simplicity and tranquility inside, while the beautiful garden attracted attention. In terms of architecture, everything was deliberately kept very closed at the front of the house, while a quasi-glass façade was realized at the rear. On the ground floor, the living area was conceived as one open space in which different volumes deliberately divide the space. The wooden volume with kitchen and cloakroom, for example, forms a separation between the entrance hall and the living space, just as the fireplace wall divides the dining room and the seating area. The simplicity of the materials and the interplay of lines create a soothing whole where the focus is brought to the garden. Materials, lines and visible axes therefore seamlessly extend from the inside to the outside, which reinforces the architecture as a whole. On the first floor, the “master bedroom” and “master bathroom” stand out because of the openness and the phenomenal view to the garden.
