With great passion and talent, Leonie Hendrikse and Jeroen Stock, the creative duo behind Stock Dutch Design, set out to bring their clients’ memories to the surface and translate them into interiors that feel personal and true. People want to keep their fondest memories alive. They want their homes to reflect who they really are. That is why Hendrikse and Stock design every interior to be authentic and unique. Whether it is a modern bungalow in Wassenaar with many windows or a Berlage-designed house in The Hague: “We build a relationship with the residents. In the end, it is their home. Beautiful interiors are only possible through that connection and by putting passion into every design. Interiors made with enthusiasm that show who lives here and calls it home,” says Jeroen.

Stock Dutch Design’s clients are not only private individuals, but also families looking for a cohesive interior throughout the home. They are people with an eye for style and color, who appreciate beautiful surroundings, but who prefer to rely on professional guidance for the actual design. “What they are really looking for is someone they can trust across the full spectrum, from the structural side to the design itself. Someone who can, for example, update a protected historic building and give it a contemporary feel, while preserving everything that makes it historically significant. But this person must also bring the legal expertise that such a transformation requires. They want to work with an architect who knows how to turn a sterile office into a warm family home. They hope to be challenged by someone with ideas they would never have thought of themselves. Ideas that add character to the interior,” says Leonie. In that sense, Stock Dutch Design is about more than architecture. It also covers interior design, building technology, color advice, furniture design, specialist lighting, project management, and styling, all within one company.

Leonie and Jeroen have such similar backgrounds that it almost seems destined they would end up together. Jeroen was born in Cape Town, Leonie in Sydney. Both lived with their families in Singapore, though not at the same time, before returning to the Netherlands and launching their careers quickly after graduation. They met in a professional setting and discovered they shared an entrepreneurial spirit and a love of creating refined, beautiful designs and compositions. They moved in together two days later and married eight months after that. They push each other to new creative heights and encourage each other’s entrepreneurial drive. Jeroen’s talent as a draftsman and consultant has continued to develop, and today he focuses on strategy and on designing interiors from an architectural and technical perspective. Leonie has a distinctive intuition for color, detail, and composition. For her, the design process is a kind of aesthetic celebration. At the same time, she always keeps practical matters and client service in mind, in both small and large ways. Leonie and Jeroen complement each other perfectly. They design interiors together as well as independently. In addition, they are training a new generation of designers. Their team includes young draftsmen, architects, and designers. The offices on Scheldestraat and Van Eeghenstraat in Amsterdam have been left behind since the company moved into the royal setting of Huis Barnaart in Haarlem. On the ground floor, a passionate team creates new memories for clients and for themselves.
