Villa with floor-to-ceiling black doors
Two generations under one modern roof
Two generations under one roof, that’s a win-win for everyone. Architect Andy Gijbels lives and works in the penthouse on the top floor. His parents chose the ground floor. There they combine the tranquility of a wooded front garden with the comfort of an apartment. Floor-to-ceiling black doors were chosen for interior doors. The frame and the vertical aluminum edge handle are black anodised and the door panel is covered with Resopal Massiv with traceless coating for easy maintenance. The vertical handle fuses optically into the door panel and has numerous functional advantages. In this way, children grow with the handle and the handle cannot be damaged when opening the door. Therefore, no floor stop should be placed if the door were to tighten against a wall or cupboard.
