Stefan Soenens is a trained civil engineer-architect. He completed his studies at KU Leuven and graduated in 1997. His education had a strongly technical focus, further reinforced by his optional subjects.

For his compulsory post-graduate internship, he chose a large design office where all aspects of the building process were covered. Over the next five years, he gained experience across a wide range of disciplines, sharpening his expertise in construction and design. Within the office, he specialized in special technical systems while also beginning to develop his own independent architectural practice.

Since 2002, his collaboration with the design office was gradually reduced in favour of his own professional activity. Today, his own practice has grown into a full-time commitment.

The focus of the assignments lies in the renovation and restoration of existing buildings, a discipline that will continue to be further developed in the future. Most renovation projects also include a section of new-build architecture, although complete new-build projects are also part of the office’s portfolio.

In addition, the practice is complemented by expert services such as condition reports, private expert assessments and technical advice within the context of construction projects.
