Maarten Dekoninck
Born in Halle on 24 February 1975, Maarten Dekoninck studied at the Sint Lukas Institute in Brussels, specialising in ecology. In 1997, he moved to the Politecnico di Milano, where he graduated cum laude for designing a concept car for the ItalDesign group. He completed internships at H. Debeenhouwer and BOB361.
He then worked at BIM as client/architect, where he and Laurent Ney built the Stockel bridge and helped establish the Green Architecture Prize for Brussels. He also spent some time working with Jo Crepain before starting his own office in May 2004 with five small renovation projects.
In May 2012, he founded CASTOR FIBER architecture studio bvba and expanded the portfolio to include large-scale complex renovations, new-build homes, restoration projects and public buildings. A passionate motorcyclist and snowboarder, he enjoys challenges, both professionally and personally. He lives for his passion for architecture and engineering.
