Apartment Deventer
Warm and luxurious pied-à-terre
Overlooking the historic downtown of a city in the eastern part of the country, the clients enjoy a luxurious, personal, warm and contemporary apartment. The pied-à-terre provides the perfect home base when residents want to enjoy life in the vibrant downtown area in style. The warm veneer of Italian walnut is one of the great mood creators in the historic home and provides a perfect link to the business of the enterprising gentleman of the house.
The generous fenestration, combined with the great height of the first floor and the stylish and warm furnishings, immediately produces a big wow effect. Interior designers Manon Huiskes and Suzanne Ros (SKIER) placed the impressive dining table at the window and designed a special custom kitchen in line with this eye-catcher. The steel rack above the kitchen island adds intimacy to the space of no less than four meters high. A nice detail is that the staircase to the upstairs living room is part of the pantry in the kitchen.
Peace and unity
The richly furnished living room exudes security and comfort due to the lower ceiling. The use of materials, the various wall finishes and the fireplace add to the warm character of the room. The passage by the stairs in the kitchen leads to the bedroom, bath and dressing area, which feature stylish customization and atmosphere-enhancing materials such as beautiful tile work in the bathroom combined with concrete ciré. The wood used in many of the home’s custom cabinetry comes from the same Italian walnut tree, creating unity and tranquility in the apartment.
