Blue tiles in the Green Heart
The Green Heart of Holland beats in villages like Kudelstaart, Vrouwenakker, Langeraar and Nieuwveen. Old dikes, ponds, ditches, grass, reeds, willows, … You can’t get anywhere more Dutch and green. And there, in what was left of an old mill, Nick and Tim decided that the green could use quite a blue accent. Deep dark blue glaze on Fish Scale tiles behind the cast-iron fireplace combined them perfectly and measured with the bright blue of the wooden walls and the soft blue of the dining room chairs. So there beats an intimate blue heart in the grand expanse of the Green Heart on a lovely spot of land, where that mill stands. That’s called harmony.
