The renovation of this authentic farmhouse aimed to restore the lost charm to this property, as well as to increase its comfort.

JUMA likes to stage the entrance door beautifully and rebuilt the connecting volume between the two wings of the home into a symmetrical whole, with solid wood beams supporting the new canopy.

The existing roof structure was in poor condition and was also very low. A new and higher roof truss took its place, and the Veluxes had to give way to traditional dormers. In the process, the old Boom roof tiles could be recovered. This intervention resulted in the creation of a full-fledged floor where the dormers obviously provide light and views, but also help to enhance the rural character of the farmstead.

The difficult staircase was in an illogical place in the house and was demolished. The new, sculptural spiral staircase is now the eye-catcher and provides a warm welcome in the entrance hall.

The kitchen was localized to a more central location and the stove conceived JUMA in the monumental fireplace.

The massive exterior walls were ecologically insulated from the inside and caulked along the outside. Alternating with a few small, playfully positioned window openings, JUMA designed in strategic places large arched windows in black wrought iron so typical of this style.

In addition, the addition that originally housed the kitchen was demolished to make way for a new volume in wood that housed the gym. This new volume is opened up to the beautiful wooden ridge, which still creates a spacious feeling in a rather small area.
