House KB by a154 architects
At the request of the builder, the existing house was demolished and two linked dwellings were built to meet the client’s energy desiderata. Both residential rests are solid-passive and form a homogeneous whole in appearance. For choice of materials, they were limited to wood glass and concrete. The design of the wooden gates, the slatted facade at the front of the house and the design of the windows at the rear are striking. The precise insertion of slimslide sliding windows provides passive solar gains. The back facade is completely open which creates a tremendous feeling of light and freedom. The wood sash window allows architects to work with slim and clean lines (an intermediate post of barely 75 mm) combined with warmth and authenticity.
