Metamorphosis with slate
Renovation New Vennep
During a total metamorphosis, a detached, unobtrusive house got a new powerful appearance thanks to the use of black slate. This choice was made in a joint search with the client. He was not afraid to make bold choices, as his taste had changed significantly in the eighteen years he had lived in the house. The black slate gives the house the appearance of a black boulder. The quiet, green garden, also designed by us, emphasizes this image.
The sleek, almost absent details, such as the concrete pivot door at the entrance and the slender wooden frames in a frame of artificial stone, which protrudes from the facade, also reinforce the design. To soften the strict appearance, an accent of meranti slats has been applied at the entrance. The sober interior is entirely devoted to the resident’s art collection.
