In this large garden in Brabant, a classic house and modern garden architecture meet in an exciting way. With a large pond a a luxurious porch.
Classic and modern go together
Do a classic home and a modern garden go together? Yes indeed! The front yard incorporates some classic garden elements, such as baked clinkers, gravel and trimmed bulbous shapes.
More modern elements were used in the backyard. Attached to the house is a covered terrace for dining. In the back, a luxurious lounge was built. This outdoor room is decorated with some high-gloss pots with flowering plants, an outdoor fireplace and, of course, ambient lighting for the evening hours.
Modern and clean lines
A large sleek pond gives the garden direction and depth. The difference in elevation has been creatively used by some stairs that provide access from the house to this delightful garden. At the pond, the difference in height is bridged by large sturdy concrete blocks. Watch the video below and get a taste of the garden’s atmosphere!
Lush planting
The clean lines are softened by lush plantings. In particular, the colorful border along the pond is the pride of this garden owner. Geraniums, Agastache, Echinacea and many other species take turns playing the main role throughout the gardening season.
Multi-trunked Catalpas are also real mood creators. With the added bonus of white flowers. The garden blends nicely into its surroundings through the green hedges on the property boundaries, so that the trees in the background further enhance the garden image.
