New construction villa Kapellen (BE)
This luxurious new construction villa near Antwerp is completely built in old style without losing sight of any detail, the masonry is built from old bricks and is deliberately built at an angle. Certain walls in the house also run away deliberately and are visibly “crooked” Like the stucco which does not run straight so the doors at the top or bottom are narrower than on the other side.
To find a contractor who could meet these construction requirements was no easy matter, according to the residents. In addition to choosing to build this way, the residents also sought authentic building materials to give their home character and a warm feel. For this, several items were purchased from Historic Wood, such as barnwood oak cladding applied to 1 of the wings of the house.
In addition, several old oak beams were taken down for the construction of both the roof and between the first and2nd floors. In addition, the upstairs staircase is made of brushed oak planks.
