Redevelopment of old rectory
On the 14th-century Groot Bijstervelt estate, the rectory has been transformed by DMD Amsterdam into Brasserie Montfort.
The old rectory has been given an entirely new purpose as a brasserie for residents of the estate and guests from outside. DMD Amsterdam has managed to translate the story of the old chapel into the modern 21st century. That means the brasserie is a unique combination of modern and classic: the somewhat heavier classic fabrics come to life with a modern lighting plan and unusual wall finishes. The bold ceiling is a true signature piece, reflecting the wooded surroundings and winding forest trails on the estate. The glass facade connects inside with outside and brings nature even closer.
