Modern overflow pool in a sleek garden

The water sits almost level with the edge, so the line of the basin reads first and the rest of the garden follows it. This modern overflow pool measures 10x4x1.5 m and is set into a garden that is drawn with the same restraint: straight borders, clipped greenery and a terrace that runs tight along the water. The result is not about ornament. It is about the way the pool, the paving and the glazed structure beside it lock into one clear composition.

A long waterline that shapes the garden

From several angles, the pool appears as a precise rectangle with a pronounced waterline detail. The overflow action keeps the surface calm and flat, while the pale basin edges and darker reflections give the water a sharper outline. A low lawn strip and neat planting sit around the perimeter, so the pool does not float in the garden; it cuts a visible axis through it. That line is what the eye keeps returning to, whether the view comes from the terrace or from across the lawn.

The proportions are easy to read. A 10x4x1.5 pool leaves enough length for a strong horizontal gesture without crowding the terrace beside it. In the images, the basin is framed by restrained garden walls and tall clipped hedges, which hold the space in place and keep the focus on the water. Even the reflections on the surface reinforce that order: glass, greenery and sky are all pulled into the same band of movement.

Terrace by the pool, set out in clean lines

The terrace by the pool is not treated as an afterthought. It sits immediately beside the water in long boards that continue the geometry of the basin. A lounge setting and a simple table occupy the deck, leaving enough open surface to keep the pool in view. In the wider shots, the terrace works like a second plane: one level for sitting, one level for swimming, both held together by the same straight edge.

Visible material changes keep the setting grounded. Concrete appears in the pale structure around the pool, wood softens the deck underfoot, and glass opens the view along the side of the house and over the covered zone. Those materials are not used as decoration; they divide the scene into readable zones. The hard pool edge, the warmer deck surface and the transparent enclosure each do a different job in the composition.

Detail at the edge of the water

Closer views make the pool waterline detail more explicit. The overflow edge runs in a controlled strip, and the transition between basin and water is sharp rather than heavy. Light ripples break the surface, but the line itself stays disciplined. In one image, the metal-like transition at the water side catches the light; in another, the terrace boards meet the pool with a tight joint. These are the moments that define the project more than any broad view.

The pool waterline detail also changes how the garden is read. Because the water is so close to the edge, the surrounding greenery feels more deliberate. A hedge becomes a backdrop rather than simply planting. A lawn edge becomes a frame. Even the reflections from the glazed parts nearby add a second layer to the surface, so the water reads both as a plane and as a mirror.

Glass canopy and indoor-outdoor overlap

The pool with glass canopy is what gives the setting its sheltered side. A broad glazed structure runs along one side of the terrace, linking the water to a covered zone that feels open but protected. Through the glass, the eye keeps moving between terrace furniture, the pool and the darker interior depth behind it. The canopy does not compete with the garden; it extends the view and gives the pool a second reading from under cover.

Seen from the terrace, the glass canopy frames the pool and sets up a clear boundary between open air and sheltered space. The horizontal canopy line echoes the pool’s long edge, so the whole scene stays low and legible. This is where the project becomes more than a simple pool installation. It is a carefully measured sequence of surfaces, each one visible from the next.

Green edges against a strict layout

The garden around the basin is kept intentionally sparse. A high clipped hedge forms the rear boundary, while low planting and trimmed lawn edges soften the transition to the hard surfaces. The geometry remains strict, but it is never empty. The greenery gives scale to the pool and prevents the terrace from feeling overexposed. That contrast between hard line and living edge is one of the few tensions in the project, and it is handled through spacing rather than extra decoration.

Across the images, the same order repeats from different viewpoints. From one side, the pool stretches beside the terrace. From another, the glazed enclosure sits behind the water. From above, the rectangular basin and the plank pattern of the deck make the layout easy to read at a glance. It is a sleek pool in garden form, but the interest lies in how precisely each part is positioned rather than in any single feature on its own.

The final impression comes from the way the water, deck and glass keep exchanging roles. The pool reflects the canopy. The terrace holds the seating. The garden wall and hedge close the scene without making it heavy. Taken together, those elements give the modern overflow pool a strong sense of direction: one long line of water, one clear terrace zone and one glazed shelter that extends the use of the space without changing its quiet geometry.

Views that hold the project together

Several images make the project read almost like a sequence of measurements. A side view shows the basin edge against the terrace boards. A wider view brings the lounge area into the foreground. A detail shot isolates the water surface and the hard edge beneath it. That variety matters, because the project depends on proportion and alignment more than on decoration. Every view confirms the same thing: the 10x4x1.5 pool is designed to sit cleanly in the garden and to keep its lines visible from the terrace, the canopy and the lawn.
