Custom wooden windows and gates

White-painted wood sets the tone before the larger openings take over. Around the arched frames, the joinery is kept calm and measured, while the broad panoramic windows pull daylight deep into the interior. The result is not a single gesture but a series of precisely placed custom wooden windows that follow the shape of the house and the pace of the rooms inside.

Arched openings and rounded window forms

The most visible rhythm in the house comes from the arches. They soften the straight lines of the walls and give the windows a rounded profile that feels rooted in the building itself. In the images, the arched openings repeat across the façade and return inside as well, where the same curves frame the view toward the garden. That consistency keeps the custom woodwork readable from both sides of the glass.

White-painted wooden windows sit against the pale masonry and the darker base, which makes each opening stand out without adding noise to the elevation. The ornamented profiles are restrained, but they are present enough to give the frames depth. This is where custom wooden windows do more than close an opening: they define the shape of the wall and hold the line between solid brickwork and transparent surfaces.

Red gates and shutters as a counterpoint

Against the white walls, the red-painted gates and shutters introduce a sharper note. They appear in several places and break up the long surfaces with a clear change in colour and material. The painted timber reads differently from the glazing beside it; one is opaque and grounded, the other open and reflective. That contrast is one of the main visual threads in the project.

Natural-finish gates add another layer, this time in a warmer wood tone. The source text mentions Afrormosia for the natural gates, and the images show how that darker timber sits comfortably next to the lighter masonry and red roof tiles. Together with the red gates and shutters, the natural wood prevents the exterior from settling into one fixed register. It moves between painted and unpainted timber, between framed opening and solid panel.

Custom woodwork that changes with each opening

The project is strongest where no two elements are treated quite the same. A window may be white-painted and ornamented, while a neighbouring opening is handled as a large pane of glass. A gate may be red, while another is left natural. That variation gives the custom wooden windows and accompanying joinery a practical clarity: each piece responds to its place in the wall rather than repeating one formula across the whole house.

This approach also shows in the way the timber parts meet the masonry. The lines are exact, but they are not overdrawn. Frames sit into the wall with enough depth to register the thickness of the opening, and the curves of the arches remain visible instead of being flattened by surrounding details. It is a simple point, yet it carries the whole composition: custom woodwork here is used to shape openings, not to disguise them.

Panoramic windows bring daylight into the interior

Inside, the house changes pace. Large panoramic windows open the rooms to the outside and let the light spread across the ceiling beams, walls, and work surfaces. The interior shown in the images is pared back, so the glazing becomes a structural visual element rather than a background feature. The panes are generous enough to hold the eye, and their scale explains why the space feels so open without needing decorative reinforcement.

What stands out is the way the bright interior with large windows keeps the roof geometry and the arched forms in view. The curved openings are not limited to the exterior face; they reappear in the room as a frame for garden views. That creates a clear connection between the glazed walls and the interior layout, where the light reaches further because the openings are broad and uninterrupted.

Wooden beams, clear surfaces, and a direct view outside

The interior details stay close to the material palette of the house. Timber beams run across the ceiling, and a worktop or sink zone appears in the foreground, giving the room a lived-in edge without adding clutter. The glazing brings the garden into sight, but the room itself remains legible: wood overhead, smooth surfaces below, and window openings that sit between them like cut-outs in the wall.

That direct view outside is part of the project’s appeal. The panoramic windows do not compete with the arched frames; they answer them with scale. One set of openings is shaped, the other expansive. Together they keep the interior bright while preserving the house’s rural character, which is grounded in masonry, roof tiles, and timber rather than in a single dominant material.

Rural walls, red roof tiles, and precise joinery

The exterior setting is unmistakably rural: white masonry, a dark plinth zone, red roof tiles, and white chimneys lining the roofline. Against that background, the custom wooden windows and gates do the quiet but necessary work of tying the surfaces together. They echo the colours already present in the house and add one more layer of finish where openings need to be closed, framed, or defined.

That is why the project reads as more than a catalogue of separate details. The red gates and shutters, the white-painted wooden windows, the panoramic windows, and the natural timber gates all belong to the same architectural decision. Each element is visible for what it does: one shapes the light, one marks an entry, one sets off a curved opening, and one leaves the grain of the wood in view. The result is a house where the joinery carries as much of the composition as the masonry itself.
