Swimming Pool with Cover

The glass panels catch the light before the water does. From the terrace, the swimming pool with cover reads as a long, clear-lined rectangle set into a green backyard, with dark framing and pale paving pulling the eye along its length. The cover is not pushed into the background; it shapes how the pool is seen, filtering reflections and leaving the water visible beneath the enclosure.

A rectangular pool set into the terrace

The plan is direct: a rectangular swimming pool measuring 12 by 4 metres, surrounded by a wide terrace with straight grout lines and a measured edge. That geometry gives the whole setting a calm order. The broad in-water steps soften the entry point, while the pale pool coping and grey paving keep the focus on the long surface of the water. It is a modern backyard pool, but the reading is quieter than that phrase suggests, built from line, proportion and the way the terrace meets the basin.

Because the pool sits close to the paving, the transition from stone to water is immediate. A low dark frame runs beside the basin, and the glass enclosure continues above it in clear panels. In the side views, parts of the cover hover over the pool rather than sitting away from it, so the enclosure becomes part of the composition. The result is a swimming pool with cover that is visible from several angles, not just from the main approach.

Glass panels that keep the pool in view

The glass pool enclosure brings light across the surface instead of closing the space off. You can still read the length of the water through the panels, with the garden and fence visible beyond. That transparency matters here. It keeps the enclosure from feeling heavy and allows the pool to remain the centre of the scene, even when the cover is closed. The dark metal frame gives the glass a clear outline, which makes the structure easy to read against the paving and the surrounding planting.

Seen from the side, the enclosure shifts from a technical addition to a spatial layer. It follows the pool edge, then rises in a sequence of panes that reflect the sky and the garden. Those reflections change with the angle of view, especially where the grey terrace meets the blue water. In images that focus on the full length of the basin, the cover almost draws a second line above the pool, repeating the rectangle without copying it exactly.

Light, water and the edge of the terrace

A close view of the pool edge shows how restrained the materials are. The water sits against a dark band, then meets the terrace paving in a clean junction. No decorative detail interrupts that shift. The eye moves from the blue surface to the stone, then up into the glass. That sequence is one of the strongest parts of the project: water, edge, terrace, enclosure. Each layer is simple, but together they give the swimming pool with cover its clarity.

The grey paving extends far enough to read as a usable pool with terrace rather than a narrow strip around the basin. That extra room matters visually. It allows the pool to breathe within the garden and gives the enclosure space to sit without crowding the planting. In the overall view, the terrace also works as a frame, pulling the rectangular shape into focus and making the water feel longer and more deliberate.

Planting that softens the structure

Greenery is used as a border, not as decoration. Plants and trees stand around the enclosure and along the garden edges, cutting the straight lines of glass and paving with softer shapes. The planting also gives privacy, which changes the way the pool is read from outside the terrace. Instead of a hard-edged object in the garden, the basin feels nested among leaves and fence lines. That contrast between the transparent cover and the denser planting is what keeps the setting from becoming too rigid.

The green backdrop also deepens the colour of the water. Against that setting, the blue surface appears lighter, and the glass panels become more visible. In the longer views, the enclosure sits between the paving and the garden like a clear band, catching reflections from both sides. It is a subtle effect, but an important one: the pool does not separate from its surroundings, even though the cover gives it a precise outline.

An outdoor shower placed within the same scene

Near the pool, an outdoor shower adds another clear vertical element. The fixture is fitted with a rain shower and massage jets, and it sits close enough to the terrace to belong to the same daily route as the water. Visually, it breaks the long horizontal lines of the pool and paving. That contrast helps the area feel complete without adding clutter. The shower is not hidden away; it is part of the composition, read alongside the basin, enclosure and terrace.

Because the shower is positioned in the same field of view as the pool, it extends the use of the outdoor space beyond the swim itself. The hard surfaces around it keep the setting practical, but the visual emphasis stays on the materials: metal, glass, paving and water. The combination is straightforward and easy to read, which suits the project’s overall restraint.

What the cover changes in daily use

Even without overexplaining the mechanism, the cover changes how the pool can be used and seen across the seasons. In the images, it folds into the backyard as a clear enclosure rather than an afterthought. The glass panels allow daylight through, so the covered pool still feels open, and the straight geometry of the structure stays legible from the terrace. That is what gives the project its particular character: a pool that remains visible, even when protected by the enclosure.

The combination of a swimming pool with cover, a generous terrace and planted edges creates a setting that is easy to follow with the eye. There is no excess detailing, only a sequence of surfaces and lines that guide you from the garden into the water. The result is a rectangular pool that feels anchored in its surroundings, with the glass enclosure, paving and planting all doing visible work in the space.

The technical description is as direct as the image: type Welson Pool in polypropylene, 12 by 4 metres, with a broad in-water step and an option for a pool enclosure. Those facts align with what is visible. The basin is long and narrow, the entry step opens the front edge, and the cover sits above the water as a clear layer. Nothing in the composition is overplayed. The project relies on proportion, material contrast and the way the glass enclosure lifts the pool into view.
