Strakke landelijke villa met long glass gallery

A long glass gallery cuts through the plan and sets the pace of the house. It links the kitchen and living room, but more importantly it pulls daylight deep inside and frames a garden view from the kitchen. The glazed strip reads as a clear internal route, with dark aluminium-style window frames drawing a thin line through the lighter interior surfaces. The result is not a corridor that disappears into the background, but a visible spatial move that shapes how the rooms relate to each other.

A thatched roof above clean lines of glass

The roof edge softens the profile of the villa, while the large glazing keeps the composition open. That contrast is easy to read from the outside: thatched roof and glass facade, light walls and dark frames, a rural roofline carrying a more restrained window rhythm. The house with large windows does not rely on one gesture alone. It sets up a sequence of surfaces, where the roof, the openings and the terrace all speak to each other without crowding the view.

Close to the house, the exterior reveals a terrace laid in rectangular paving, a covered seating area and a swimming pool set into the garden. These elements remain in support of the architecture rather than taking over it. The terrace sits just below the large openings, so the transition from inside to outside is direct. Timber posts under the canopy add another layer of depth, and the pool extends the long horizontal read that begins with the glass gallery inside.

The long sightline between kitchen and living room

Inside, the long glass gallery becomes the strongest line in the plan. It carries the eye from one end of the house to the other and makes the kitchen living connection easy to follow. Light arrives from the side and stretches along the glazed passage, giving the interior a clear sense of length. This is where the project earns its character: not through decoration, but through a route that can be seen, used and felt at once.

The kitchen opens onto that route with a pale island set in a restrained interior. Above it, the ceiling keeps a straight rhythm of recessed spotlights, which reinforces the length of the room. Wood appears in built-in elements and in the joinery around the passage, giving the white and pale surfaces something to stand against. The long glass gallery makes the kitchen feel connected to the rest of the villa, yet it still reads as its own zone within the plan.

Light drawn toward the garden

The garden view villa idea is most convincing where the kitchen looks outward. The glazing does not just admit light; it pulls the eye toward greenery beyond the house and turns the garden into part of the interior sequence. Because the opening is long rather than punctual, the view unfolds in a band instead of a single frame. That difference matters. It gives the room depth, and it keeps the connection to outside present even when the kitchen is the main place of use.

Another image shows a broader glazed wall with vertical divisions and a seat placed near the opening. Here the house with large windows feels quieter, almost measured by the spacing of the frames. The dark profiles hold the glass in a neat grid, while the surrounding walls stay light and plain. Nothing competes with the view. The room is left to register the greenery beyond the glass, the line of the opening, and the way the interior edge sits close to the garden.

Wood details against pale walls and glass

The interior finishes stay restrained, but they are not flat. Wood appears in a vertical wall element, in the kitchen joinery and along the long passage, adding a warmer tone against the pale ceiling and walls. The materials are read in layers: smooth painted surfaces, glazed spans, timber accents and the dark lines of the aluminium-style window frames. That combination keeps the rooms calm without making them anonymous. Each material has a clear role in the composition.

Seen from another angle, the kitchen and living area share a broad opening that brings the outside in without overexposing the room. The long glass gallery is still present as a spatial device, but it is now felt through the movement of light and the depth of the room rather than as a single visual feature. This is where the project’s logic becomes tangible: the connection between kitchen and living room is built into the route itself, not added as an afterthought.

Terrace, canopy and pool as part of one line

Outside, the terrace gives the house a second threshold. Its paving extends from the glazing, then stops at the edge of the lawn and pool. The covered lounge sits beside it with timber posts and a sheltered roof, creating a place where the horizontal lines of the villa continue into the garden. The swimming pool is set back enough to keep the house dominant, but visible enough to complete the outdoor sequence. Together, these elements extend the long glass gallery beyond the interior.

What stays with you is the way the villa organizes its spaces through length, not spectacle. The long glass gallery, the kitchen living connection and the broad openings all rely on one another. The thatched roof and glass facade give the house its contrast, while the pale interior and timber accents keep the route legible once you move inside. It is a project built around sightlines: from kitchen to garden, from room to room, and from the covered terrace back toward the house.
