LMC Architecten

LMC Architects is an international design practice for architecture and interior design. The company was founded in Mumbai in 2007 by Dutch architect Lara de Rooij. In 2016, LMC Architects opened a second office in Amsterdam. With a Master’s degree in Architecture from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, Lara moved to Mumbai, India in 2004, where she gained experience and skills in design management before founding LMC Architects. Since its establishment, the company has completed more than 120 projects across India and the Netherlands.

The all-female design team strongly believes in tangible, built forms of design. The architects and interior designers are all dedicated generalists with an eye for detail, bringing a fresh approach to every new project. At LMC, sustainability is created through a thorough analysis of the client’s requirements, meticulous detailing, and consideration of the design’s life cycle and the maintenance it will require over many years. Projects span across India, including Ladakh, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai and Kerala, as well as the Netherlands, such as Uitdam, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

With her strong analytical mindset and more than 19 years of experience, Lara combines Dutch design, European efficiency and Indian creative hands-on elements in all of the company’s projects.
