Renovation Randstad

Flatten or remodel and expand. That was the question that the buyers of the old house put to Jasper and Carlo. They advised that the house, designed by architect J.F Berghoef, be restored to its former glory. A modern extension could accommodate the other wishes of the family: a large kitchen, covered terrace, garage, separate chill-room and boathouse. Thanks to smart solutions, the architects managed to stay within the limits of license-free building, so that a license-free extension of the old house was realized. The municipality turned out to be so impressed by the new whole that the house has now obtained the status of a municipal monument.

The original house consists on the ground floor of an entrance hall, utility room, sitting room and separate television room. The first floor is completely reserved for the parents, while the growing children on the second floor have their domain, with space in the ridge for sleeping. The license-free extension on the ground floor is largely taken up by a spacious, bright kitchen with a large dining table from the ZOEN by ENZO collection. Here, the original exterior wall, which has been beautifully restored, has been left in view. Behind the kitchen is a large storage room with custom cabinets. Sliding doors lead from the kitchen to the veranda with an attractive seating area around a fireplace. Here is also room for the outdoor dining table. A wide skylight here, and in the kitchen, ensures that daylight can flow in fully.

Not only has an interior plan been made for this house, including advice on whether or not to bring existing furniture with you, but a detailed garden design was also one of the services that ENZO provided. This plan was implemented in consultation with Stukart Tuinen.
