Sleek garden against green wall

This garden in Brabant immediately stands out because of the large height difference. As much as 2.5 meters is the drop between the house and the valley of the Great Brook, which flows through the backyard.

Sleek landscaping
The eye-catcher is a black metal water play of nearly 10 meters. The water seems to flow over the edge, but runs back into the tank just before the side. A wonderfully soothing sound is the result. At night, this custom element is beautifully illuminated by some LED spotlights located underwater.

Livable and fitting into the environment
Directly adjacent to the living kitchen of the renovated house is like a garden within the garden. Two wide sturdy steps lead to the spacious deck terrace. Deliberately large, the family has six members! Space enough, then. In addition to this beautiful hardwood patio, there is room on a plane of split for additional seating, the barbecue, side-tables, etc. From the terrace further back, the garden gradually merges into the landscape of the stream course beyond.

Living easily from inside to outside was the task, and it worked out well. From the beating heart of this family home – the living kitchen – a lively scene plays out behind the large glass wall 365 days a year. There is always a bird, squirrel or other small animal to be seen. With the doors ajar in winter, the garden joins in with the sound of water play even then. And as soon as the weather permits, this family lives outside, snug on the main terrace or just on a chair on the lawn. That’s where you really get away from school, work and other daily concerns.

Spacious front yard
The front yard is sober and functional in design. A nice touch is the walkway of large concrete slabs to the entrance. The split driveway has room for the two cars. The planting consists of large groups of ornamental grasses with some whimsical multi-stemmed trees.
