FOAM architecten is a distinctive Rotterdam-based studio led by architects Joren Vis and Sander Bouw. The practice specialises in transforming existing homes, from extensions to complete renovations, and from exterior to interior.

The designs by FOAM architecten are shaped by a fitting response to the existing house and the needs of its new residents. That can mean a highly contemporary addition, or the careful restoration of a classic home. Every design is bespoke, but also functional, legible and timeless.

FOAM architecten believes that listening well is essential. Listening to the client’s wishes, in order to come up with an unexpected answer to the brief. Creating solutions that had not yet been considered. Surprising.
