ABOUT MEK //MEK is the Amsterdam-based interior studio of Margriet Kok. From her atelier along the city’s historic canals, she combines a wealth of research and technical expertise with an intuitive creative vision. Her distinctive soft minimalist aesthetic is rooted in a rich foundation of raw textures, organic forms and plays of light — combined with playful artifacts and flamboyant art objects.

MEK’s work is divided into two branches: MEK Studio and MEK Collection.

MEK COLLECTION //In recent years, MEK has regularly designed bespoke objects for interior projects to complement a unique space or evoke a specific feeling, often resulting in requests and additional orders. This inspired the idea to offer these pieces on a larger scale. The MEK Collection is a series of beautiful art objects for the home, including glassware, ceramics, lighting and furniture. In close collaboration with independent artists from across Europe, MEK curates limited-edition artworks — bridging the gap between artists and the public.

MEK STUDIO //MEK specializes in end-to-end project development, with a unique command of both the technical realities of construction and a meticulous eye for detail to ensure a polished final result. This duality is reflected in the wide range of projects MEK takes on. These can range from the aesthetic styling of a single room to full project management for renovations, new-build projects and more. Alongside its interior projects, MEK also enjoys drawing on its strong network of creative talent to create compelling imagery for magazines, brands, department stores and more. Energized by a collaborative approach to creativity, this work includes on-location styling for events, press launches or showrooms, as well as set design and direction for photoshoots.
