Boutique Hotel in Amsterdam
The Amsterdam neighborhood “De Pijp” is a hotel richer. At this very central location next to the Nederlandsche Bank, we have realized a 4 * boutique hotel in 2 stately buildings from the year 1906. The hotel has 23 rooms of different sizes spread over 4 floors. In the homely lobby / reception there is a small pleasant bar next to the fireplace and it offers a good breakfast to its guests. The 23 rooms have an open bathroom and separate toilet. The industrial atmosphere is decorated with luxurious materials and contemporary comfort. In other words, a comfortable bed in a good location, with a hearty breakfast, for a reasonable price. As the Lonely Planet heads in; “Amsterdam is history with modern flair.” We have delved into the history of the building for concept development. Unfortunately, there was little to be found in the archives. However, the last residents of this building have made a big deal. Unsolicited they squatted the buildings and were able to own the property for almost 2 years. At that time, little has remained of the original interior. All fine details have disappeared. The only thing that is still remembered by the squatters are the many graffiti on the walls throughout the building. These “unwanted” drawings have become the starting point for the interior concept. The interior is a reflection of the city and equipped with modern and comfortable luxury.
