Three seating areas
Totally relaxing at home depends on fine sitting areas, these homeowners from Zwolle have long known. That’s why Denise was commissioned to design no less than three sections (living room, TV room and lounge area) in their spacious home so that you can optimally relax there. Denise: ‘It’s always nice when you get the trust of clients and get to handle almost everything. Because almost in the whole house we celebrated the Meijs scepter and took care of the furniture, carpets and window coverings as well as the colors.’

Also for the friends
‘You could tell by the jukebox and dartboard: the residents enjoy hosting friends at home and like a cozy “brown pub atmosphere.”‘ A custom-made bar, with sophisticated LED lighting, was therefore not to be missed. In the kitchen we placed easy chairs at the sturdy dining table, where you can sit for a long time after dessert to play a game.’

Tough and soft
In the living room, the arrangement provides plenty of light and a view of the garden. Denise: ‘We liked the idea of creating even more of a connection with the garden, by placing large pots of green plants. The high ceiling called for generous curtains of over four meters.’ Unlike the living room, the TV corner has remained quite dark for optimal viewing pleasure. ‘We laid it out there so you sit with your back to the windows.’ Soft materials and earthy colors are part of winter trends 2022. This is reflected in the generous sofa in a bold hue, which is softened by the cushions and faux-fur rug.
