Conversion and division of monumental farmhouse
In the former stable section of a monumental farmhouse, we designed a residence. The starting point for all design decisions was respect for the authentic elements. For example, the leaning end gable has been retained and the entire facade has been reinstated with gunwale work, as it used to be. The biggest challenge was preserving the old rafters. These provided the requisite headaches to create a good layout, but in the end are perfectly woven into the interior creating a synergy. This approach keeps the authentic atmosphere of the barn tangible throughout the home. Complemented by pure and robust materials, such as a level floor, dark wooden accents and doors with smoked glass, a true harmony between authentic and modern is created and this monument can look forward to a bright future.
