Visible from the first step inside, the house is built around contrast: lilac cabinet fronts, dark stone-look worktops and a pale resin floor that lets the colour sit without fighting the room. The setting is a country chic interior, but not the soft, predictable kind. Here the surfaces are a little bolder, the lines a little sharper, and the floor keeps everything from drifting into excess. The result is a home where pattern, wood and glazed openings can share the frame.

Colour starts in the kitchen

The kitchen takes a confident role in the plan. Its purple and lilac fronts run along the wall and gather around the work zone, where a darker countertop cuts a clear horizontal line through the composition. A tiled backsplash, picked up in red and violet tones, adds texture rather than gloss, so the colour reads in layers. Brass-toned details and the pendant lights above the island add small points of reflection, enough to catch the eye without interrupting the calm of the room.

This custom kitchen is not isolated from the rest of the house; it is tied to the dining area by sightlines, proportions and the same restrained floor finish. The bar stools at the island, the round table nearby and the upholstered chairs create a lived-in arrangement, but the layout stays open enough to keep the room moving. In a country chic interior, that kind of spacing matters. The kitchen can carry colour because the resin floor keeps the base quiet and consistent.

A resin floor that holds the room together

The resin floor, described in the project as a Pava Castle Floor, is made from resin mixed with finely ground lava stone grit. That material choice gives the surface depth in a way a plain paint finish would not. It reads as even from a distance, but closer in the floor has a subtle mineral presence that suits the wood, tile and painted joinery around it. Rather than competing with the kitchen fronts, the floor gives the whole interior a steady ground plane.

Because the floor is carried through the living zones, the house avoids abrupt changes between one room and the next. The light tone picks up daylight from the large windows, while the darker furniture pieces and the more saturated cabinet fronts sit clearly on top of it. That contrast is what makes the country chic interior feel deliberate. The rooms are busy with detail, but the floor keeps the eye low and the space readable.

Beams, height and long views

Above the main rooms, the ceiling reveals exposed beams that break up the height and give the architecture a stronger rhythm. They sit against a light ceiling surface, so the structure is visible without making the room feel heavy. In several views the beams connect with tall windows, curtains in pale fabric and door frames with divided glazing, all of which pull light through the house. The effect is less about decoration than about framing: each opening marks another layer of the plan.

Those long views are important in the composition. From the kitchen, the eye moves toward the dining area and further into adjoining rooms, where the same palette continues in different forms. A dark doorway, a patterned wall in the hall and a glimpse of the staircase all appear as part of one sequence. The country chic interior gains energy from these transitions. Nothing feels sealed off, yet each zone keeps its own surface and mood.

A fireplace with a darker edge

Set against the brighter walls and lighter floor, the fireplace area introduces a denser note. Seen alongside the round dining table and the soft drape of the curtains, the fireplace adds weight to the side of the room that needs it. The contrast is straightforward: painted wall, dark surround, daylight from the window. That simplicity makes the finish read clearly.

The house uses classic details in a very direct way. Door frames with a gridded glass look, paneled surfaces and trim around openings appear throughout the interior, but they never dominate the rooms. Instead, they keep the house connected to its rural setting while allowing the brighter kitchen colour and the resin floor to do the heavier visual work. It is a measured mix, with enough ornament to avoid flatness and enough restraint to let the materials speak.

Bathroom surfaces keep the same rhythm

The bathroom continues that layered approach with herringbone bathroom tiles and a freestanding tub. A gold-toned tap stands out against the pale surfaces, while the tiled walls give the room a sharper pattern than the living spaces. The bathroom is not treated as a separate world; it follows the same habit of pairing clean lines with small material shifts. The chevron effect of the tiles gives movement to the walls, while the tub stays visually calm in the foreground.

Even in the smaller rooms, the project keeps to the same logic. The materials are allowed to repeat in different combinations: tile, painted joinery, timber, glass and the resin floor itself. That repetition is what makes the country chic interior feel coherent without becoming repetitive. One room holds more colour, another more shadow, but the transitions stay legible. The house reads as a sequence of spaces shaped by surface rather than by excess.

What stays after the first impression

What remains strongest is the way the resin floor anchors a room full of colour. The kitchen fronts could easily have overwhelmed the interior on their own, yet the pale surface below them keeps the volume open. Exposed beams, the decorative fireplace and the glass-divided openings add structure, while the bathroom tiles bring a different kind of pattern into the mix.
