That brief movement defines the house from the first view: a modern minimalist villa built from two ground-floor blocks, one turned ninety degrees against the other, with a glazed link marking the entrance. The composition reads as custom architecture rather than a standard box, because the plan follows the way the home is meant to be used. Large panes pull the garden inward, while the upper floor sits above the lower volumes like a compact, calm cap.

Sculptural white volumes with room for daily life

The ground floor carries the main living spaces. That choice gives the house a clear life-cycle home design, with everyday functions kept on one level. Living room, kitchen, the master bedroom, en-suite wellness bathroom and walk-in closets all sit below, while office space at home was part of the client’s brief. The rear side opens to a covered veranda of ten metres wide, a deep sheltered zone that extends the plan without changing the strict geometry of the building. From the outside, the stacked masses turn the villa into a single white form in the landscape.

Because the volumes are shifted and separated, each side gets its own reading. The horizontal lines stay crisp, but the offset creates shadow, depth and a clear route toward the entrance. This is where personalized villa design shows itself most clearly: not in decoration, but in the way the building places rooms, thresholds and views. The large windows are not just inserted for light. They also frame the surroundings and make the interior feel open to the fields and garden beyond.

A glass entrance link that keeps the garden in sight

Between the two lower blocks, the glass entrance link does more than connect. It makes the entry sequence legible at once. Step inside and the eye continues through the transparent zone to the back garden, so arrival never feels enclosed. That through-view is one of the strongest spatial moves in the project. The entrance works as a hinge. One side holds one part of the ground-floor plan, the other side the second block, and the glass between them softens the transition. The result is a clear sequence of solid, void and light, with the glazed link acting as both doorway and viewpoint.

Large glazing as part of the composition

Across the villa, large glazing does more than admit daylight. It allows the landscape to enter the rooms as a changing backdrop, especially where the exterior remains quiet and white. The windows reinforce the calm geometry of the volumes, but they also break it up by reflecting the surroundings and by opening longer views. In the images, the black window frames sharpen the facade lines, while the glass reads as a continuous surface against the white render.

That relationship between solid wall and clear opening gives the house its strongest contrast. Instead of a sealed object, it becomes a white villa with large glazing that is constantly tied to what is outside. The rear veranda and the garden view through the entrance both depend on that same idea: the plan is shaped to keep light moving and sightlines open. It is a restrained language, but never a static one.

Inside, the detailing stays disciplined

The interior photographs show the same approach in a different register. In the kitchen, white cabinetry meets dark appliances and a dark floor, so the room reads in planes rather than in ornament. A broad window brings in light across the worktop, and the clean edge between cabinet fronts and floor keeps the room visually stable. Nothing here tries to dominate. Instead, the materials are used to keep the space clear and direct, which suits the wider custom architecture of the house.

The staircase continues that line of thinking. White walls, wooden treads and a dark floor zone create a measured contrast, and the diagonal run of the stairs adds movement to an otherwise very controlled interior. Even the passage areas carry the same discipline as the main rooms, which helps the ground-floor plan feel open without becoming loose.

Wellness bathroom with sharp tile contrast

The wellness bathroom brings in a more tactile layer through mosaic and tile work. A double vanity sits against a light wall, while the bath area is marked by mosaic accents and a dark tiled floor. The room is quiet in colour, but the surfaces are not flat. Small tile fragments catch the light differently from the larger wall areas, and the in-built ceiling spots emphasise that texture. It is a compact room, yet the materials give it depth without adding visual noise.

This is one of the places where the project’s life-cycle home design becomes tangible. With the primary rooms on the ground floor, daily movement stays simple, and the bathroom belongs to that logic. The finish is precise, but the real value lies in the way it supports the layout: close to the bedroom, visually contained, and part of a plan that was clearly drawn around ease of use over time. The imagery confirms that the interior is composed with the same restraint as the exterior.

Energy measures are built into the plan, not added later

The source mentions passive solar gain as a guiding principle for the layout. That matters because the plan is not only about form; it is also about how the house works with sunlight. High levels of insulation, a heat pump with heat recovery, and solar panels are part of the technical package described for the home. These elements are presented as part of the building, not as a separate layer. They sit behind the visual quiet of the villa, which keeps the architecture focused on use, light and envelope.

Outside, a natural swimming pond extends that same careful approach to the site. The helofyte filter is meant to keep the water quality optimal without electricity or harmful substances. Visually, the pond also contributes a reflective surface beside the white mass of the house, which is visible in the exterior images. Water, glass and white render meet in a way that strengthens the project’s clear lines, without turning the garden into a decorative backdrop.

The overall result is a personalized villa design that draws its identity from placement, proportion and sequence. The house does not rely on gestures. It uses a shifted ground-floor plan, a glass entrance link, large glazing, a covered veranda and a reflective water feature to make the architecture readable from every side. In that sense, the project stays close to its stated brief: a white modern villa with room for everyday life, work at home and a ground-floor layout that can adapt over time.
