East is East and West is West, but those two will certainly meet. The reverse of what the English poet Rudyard Kipling said in 1892. At the intersection of two extremes, the rapprochement between the two worlds becomes visible. East West Villa, “the place where east and west come together wonderfully.”
 
Closed, but sensual in its movement. The solid wall forms the safe front of the house. The back, invisible from the street, is completely open. Receptive and free for the experience of the fresh green meadow with sheep, a typical Dutch view. Inside, next to a swimming pool with lights, is a patio with tropical plants. The long wall, in the heart of the house, has a typical oriental red color. They are just a few elements from the two different worlds from the east and the west.
 
The house makes the encounter between different generations possible, as is more common in the east. In addition to the family with three children, the grandparents live here, who have their own fully equipped room at their disposal. This area, which can also be used as an office space, can be reached via a separate entrance.
 
The property is on the border of a forest and meadows. The entrance side is designed to be closed, while the garden side opens to nature. The ground floor, a sleek, rectangular and white plastered block, follows the round shape of the access route. Within the home there is a second fully equipped apartment on the ground floor. On the other side is the indoor swimming pool with patio and tropical plants. The double-height central living space has a view of the Dutch meadow. From the kitchen there is contact with the swimming pool, the seating area and the living room. The rounded back wall forms a kind of back cover in the kitchen.
