Kitchen with travertine-like natural stone and a light natural palette

A light natural color palette sets the tone from the first glance, letting the travertine-like natural stone read clearly against white built-in cabinetry and a few black accents. The material mix is restrained, but it is not plain: the stone has enough presence to anchor the kitchen, while the surrounding white surfaces keep the room bright and open. In the visible layout, the kitchen sits within a larger interior of clean lines, daylight and quiet architectural surfaces.

White cabinetry and a stone surface that carries the room

The kitchen is built around white built-in cabinetry with no visible handles, so the eye moves straight to the worktops and island edges. That is where the travertine-like natural stone does its work. It softens the overall brightness without darkening the room, and it gives the kitchen a more grounded center. A black kitchen contrast appears in the hood and framing details, creating a sharper line between the pale fronts and the stone surface. The result is calm, but not sterile.

The natural stone kitchen island and the surrounding work surface are the most tactile parts of the plan. Their pale, warm tone sits well beside the white cabinet run, while the dark elements introduce a clear break in the composition. This is where the project’s material logic becomes visible: rich and pure materials are used sparingly, but in places that matter. The stone appears again as a bathroom reference later on, so the palette does not stop at the kitchen threshold.

Black details keep the composition sharp

Black profiles, dark framing and the kitchen hood give the room a graphic edge. They are not used as decoration; they mark openings, outline the glazing and stop the white joinery from dissolving into the background. In the photographs, the contrast is especially effective beside the stone surfaces, which show a warmer, more layered finish. Large windows bring in daylight from the side, and that light changes how the black lines read across the room over the course of the day.

Built-in walls, a quiet stair and a measured living space

Beyond the kitchen, the interior continues in the same light natural color palette. White wall planes and integrated storage keep the surfaces clean, while the stair run adds a strong diagonal into the composition. The living area is not overloaded with furniture or ornament. Instead, the room is shaped by built-in niches, slim vertical paneling and a fireplace opening set into the wall. These elements give the space rhythm without taking away the brightness that comes from the larger windows.

One of the clearest details is the way the architecture absorbs storage and display. A recessed niche interrupts the wall and creates a place for objects or media without turning the room into a showcase. Above, ceiling spots and pendant lights with glass shades sit lightly against the white ceiling. They add points of reflection rather than visual weight. In a room like this, that matters: the surfaces stay legible, and the material change from white plaster to wood floor to stone becomes part of the experience.

The same stone theme returns in the bathroom

The bathroom extends the material story instead of introducing a new one. Here, the travertine-like natural stone returns in a softer, wetter setting, where its warm tone works against stone-look wall finishes and white trim. A bathroom double vanity anchors one side of the room, with two basins set under large mirrors framed in black. The reflection doubles the light, while the dark lines keep the composition from becoming too pale. The space feels structured by those contrasts.

Near the window, a freestanding bath sits under a broad opening with white surrounds. That placement does more than provide a view; it uses daylight to highlight the edges of the tub and the surrounding wall surfaces. The bath becomes a quiet pause in the room, with the window turning into a frame rather than a backdrop. Around it, the stone-look finishes remain understated, giving the bathroom the same material discipline seen in the kitchen. The connection between the two rooms is immediate and readable.

Double basin, black frames and clear glazing

The vanity is kept simple: two basins, a pale countertop and large mirrors with black edges. That combination gives the bathroom a crisp horizontal line, especially when paired with the darker tapware and wall lights. The shower follows the same logic. Glass panels with black profiles define the enclosure without blocking the room, so the bathroom stays open to the light coming in from the side. It is a small set of moves, but each one is visible and deliberate.

How light shapes the finishes

Daylight is one of the strongest materials in the project. It lands on the white built-in cabinetry, picks up the grain and tonal variation in the travertine-like natural stone, and then slips across the black details before reaching the bathroom glazing. Because the palette is so measured, small shifts in light are easy to read. The stone appears warmer in some views and more mineral in others. The white fronts stay crisp, while the darker elements hold the composition in place.

That clarity is what makes the interior memorable. The rooms are not trying to compete with each other; instead, the same language repeats in different scales. In the kitchen it appears as a natural stone kitchen island and handle-less fronts. In the bathroom it becomes a double vanity and a bath set beneath a window. Between those two spaces, the house uses proportion, surface and contrast to create continuity without monotony.

Materials that stay visible, not decorative

The project relies on materials that show their own texture: wood flooring, plastered white walls, travertine-like stone and black metal profiles. None of them is overstated. Each one has a job to do in the room. The wood underfoot warms the larger areas, the stone gives weight to the working surfaces, and the black framing sharpens the openings. Together they shape an interior that feels edited rather than assembled, with enough variation to keep the eye moving from kitchen to living area to bathroom.

What stays with you is the way the rooms connect through those visible details. A stone edge appears in one view and returns elsewhere in a different scale. A black line on a cabinet becomes a frame around glass. White built-in cabinetry keeps the architecture quiet, so the stone and light can take the lead. It is a careful sequence of surfaces, and that is where the project gets its strength: in what is repeated, what is held back, and what is left clearly in view.
