Light gray natural stone bathroom with an oval freestanding bathtub

A collaboration with a studio sets the tone here, but the images quickly shift the attention to materials: light gray stone surfaces, dark wood, and bronze details that catch the light on a mirror wall.

The strongest reading is the wood and stone interior in the bathroom. The floor and wall finishes sit in a pale gray range, so the oval freestanding bathtub stands out without needing color or ornament. Around it, the room stays restrained. A low stone basin, dark cabinetry, and a mirrored surface with bar lighting keep the eye moving from one plane to the next.

A bathroom built around an oval freestanding bathtub

The oval freestanding bathtub is placed as a clear center point rather than tucked away. Its soft outline cuts through the harder geometry of tiles, mirrors, and cabinetry. Nearby, the shower area and vanity read as part of the same field of light gray stone, which gives the room a steady base. The result is not about excess. It is about how a few carefully chosen surfaces hold the space together visually.

Bronze bathroom fixtures add a warmer note without taking over. Their finish appears in the taps and in the bar lighting above the mirror, where the metal breaks up the pale background and reflects back into the room. The contrast between the cool stone and the warmer fittings is what keeps the bathroom from feeling flat. Even in close-up, the materials do the work: matte stone, polished metal, and the soft edge of the tub.

Stone, wood, and a measured amount of shine

The wood and stone interior is most visible at the vanity. A custom wooden vanity supports a stone countertop, and the join between the two materials is kept visually clean. Darker wood below, pale stone above: that simple split gives the piece weight. It also echoes the rest of the room, where the cabinetry and wall surfaces repeat the same idea of contrast rather than decoration.

Seen from another angle, the bathroom uses light as a material in its own right. The mirrored wall behind the basin doubles the fixtures and the room edges, while the bronze bar light pulls a horizontal line across the composition. Woven curtains at the window soften that brightness. They do not hide the opening; they filter it, leaving the glazing readable and keeping the room connected to the outside without pushing the view forward.

Warm wood tones in the open living space

Elsewhere in the house, the palette shifts but stays related. The open-plan living high ceiling gives the room a taller scale, and the wood comes forward more strongly here. Warm wood tones living are visible in the floor and in the built-in elements, which sit under a ceiling shaped by clean lines and a few precise light points. Instead of filling the volume, the furnishings and wall surfaces leave the height intact.

That openness matters because the room is not treated as a display zone. The furniture sits low enough to keep sightlines open, and the wooden surfaces anchor the space against all the light that enters through the large panes. The same calm material logic from the bathroom returns here, only with less stone and more grain. It reads as a wood and stone interior across the house, not as separate rooms with separate languages.

Large windows, wooden frames, and filtered daylight

The windows bring another layer into view. Wooden frames set a darker border around the openings, and the woven curtains at the window introduce a softer texture that sits between interior and garden. Through the glass, green and terrace surfaces appear in fragments rather than as a full panorama. That partial view suits the rest of the house, where the focus stays on edges, surfaces, and the way daylight lands on them.

In the lounge area, the ceiling height gives the room a slightly ceremonial scale, but the finish keeps it grounded. Warm wood tones living are repeated in paneling and flooring, while the lighter ceiling and wall surfaces prevent the room from becoming heavy. The contrast is quiet but deliberate: timber below, pale surfaces above, and a series of openings that break the volume into readable parts.

Details that shift the mood from room to room

The images also show a bedroom and a child’s room, where the material palette becomes softer and more tactile. A wooden bed front, dark drapery, and a shaggy rug on a green floor create a heavier, more layered corner of the house. The textures are doing the visual work here. The thick pile of the rug changes the light, and the curtains draw the window into the room rather than leaving it as a hard opening.

What links these rooms back to the bathroom and living area is the same preference for visible material contrast. Light gray stone, warm wood, bronze accents, and woven fabric appear in different combinations, but the sequence stays legible from one space to the next. The home reads through surfaces and transitions: a basin meets stone, a window meets curtain, a floor meets rug. Nothing is overworked, and that restraint is exactly what makes the details easy to follow.

Across the project, the strongest moments come from those small alignments. The oval freestanding bathtub sits against the pale stone field. The custom wooden vanity meets a stone top. The large windows are softened by woven curtains at the window. In the living space, the open-plan living high ceiling leaves room for the wood to settle the composition. Each room keeps its own character, yet the materials keep speaking to one another.

That is the most readable aspect of the house: a wood and stone interior that changes its tone from bathroom to living room to bedroom without losing direction. The bathroom leans into pale stone and bronze bathroom fixtures. The living area brings in broader spans of timber and height. The quieter rooms add fabric and deeper color. Together, they give the project a clear visual rhythm that comes from surfaces, light, and the way each opening is framed.
