Living kitchen with glass folding walls

Light lands deep in the room before it reaches the terrace. The dining table sits beside a wide sheet of glazing, so the view runs straight past the table, across the floor line, and into the garden. In this modern living kitchen, the glass folding walls are not treated as an add-on but as the main movement of the space. The opening is large enough to shift the room’s edge outward, while the dark, slim profiles keep the line of the frame visually quiet.

A glazed opening that pulls the room toward the garden

The first thing you notice is the width of the opening. Several glazed panels can be folded back, turning the living kitchen into a space that stretches toward the terrace and garden. The change is immediate because the floor surface continues with very little interruption. That direct relationship between table, opening, and outdoor seating gives the room a clear orientation. The kitchen no longer ends at the glass; it extends toward the planted edge and the open air beyond.

Recessed floor tracks keep the transition low and visually restrained. They let the threshold read as a clean line rather than a step, which matters in a room where movement between inside and outside is part of everyday use. The result is a seamless indoor outdoor connection that can be read in the image sequence from both sides: from the dining area looking out, and from the terrace looking back toward the interior.

Slender profiles, broad panes, and a calm interior edge

Thin dark frames divide the glazing into tall vertical sections, giving the opening structure without making it heavy. The contrast between the dark profiles and the clear glass sharpens the view to the garden. Inside, the kitchen stays visually light because the glazing takes up so much of the wall plane. Even when the panels are closed, the room feels closely tied to the outside through the large glazed opening and the long sightline that runs past the terrace.

The arrangement suits a modern living kitchen that is meant to be used, not only viewed. The dining table is positioned close to the glass, which makes the threshold part of the room rather than a separate border. From that spot, the terrace and garden connection is always present: in daylight through reflections on the panes, and later through the interior light that catches the glass after dusk.

Framed by an overhang

A broad roof overhang shelters the terrace and gives the exterior edge a stronger horizontal line. It also softens the shift between the open garden side and the protected area by the house. In the daytime images, the overhang shades part of the glazing; in the evening views, it defines the roofline above the lit terrace. That cover makes the opening feel grounded. The living kitchen with glass folding walls can open wide, but it still reads as part of a composed architectural setting.

The overhang and the terrace surface work together as one outdoor extension. The house line stays crisp, the glazing remains transparent, and the garden stays visible beyond. Nothing here relies on decoration. The project uses proportion, shadow, and the depth of the roof to hold the composition together.

From daylight opening to evening reflection

The project changes character after dark. Warm interior lighting shows through the glass, and the terrace becomes a reflective strip beside the house. In one image, the glow from inside falls across the panels and the terrace edge, while the garden recedes into a darker background. In another, the water or reflective zone alongside the house catches light and doubles the straight lines of the architecture. The glazing remains the same, but the room now reads through light rather than full transparency.

That shift is important to the design. A large glazed opening can be read in daylight for its view, but in the evening it also becomes a surface. The slim frames, the lit ceiling points, and the glass panels give the living kitchen a second presence once the sun drops. The room does not disappear after hours; it stays legible through reflected light and the clear edge of the terrace.

A room planned around movement and sightlines

The interior layout is organised around long views. From the table, the eye moves through the glass toward the terrace and garden without meeting heavy partitions or thick framing. From outside, the living kitchen is visible as a bright plane behind the folding walls. This two-way reading is what makes the terrace and garden connection so effective: the room is open when it needs to be, but the boundary is still clearly drawn by the tracks, profiles, and roofline.

Images of the house show the same idea from different distances. One view focuses on the dining area beside the opening; another catches the full height of the glazed panels with the overhang above; a third looks back from the terrace into the kitchen at dusk. Together they show a modern living kitchen that uses glass folding walls, recessed floor tracks, and a large glazed opening to link the interior with the outdoor surface directly outside.

Materials kept visible

Glass, dark metal profiles, and a stone or ceramic floor form the visible language of the project. Because the materials are left plain, the connection between inside and outside stays easy to read. The floor line stays level, the frames stay slim, and the terrace surface sits close enough to the interior to feel like part of the same composition. Even the smallest details, such as the embedded track line and the edge of the overhang, support that reading.

The design does not try to disguise the boundary. It refines it. The living kitchen with glass folding walls uses clear geometry, a restrained palette, and broad openings to make the shift from room to terrace feel direct. What remains is the sight of a table near the glass, a garden beyond, and a house that opens and closes without losing its clear architectural line.
