Looking inside a high-end Tieleman kitchen
On the beautiful waterfront location and exterior of the home, the residents were still in love. The interior, however, could use a thorough renovation and restyling. On the advice of the gentleman’s father, the latter contacted Eric Kant. After all, to his great satisfaction, the versatile top designer had transformed the parents’ existing home into a custom dream home. The result is a totally new atmosphere and living experience, with no moving trucks involved. The desired tailored warm coat as the satisfying result of an intensive process.
Where before the renovation the house had a classic, almost lofty layout, now spaciousness prevails in the beautiful mansion. Among other things, the wall between the kitchen and dining room disappeared, completely changing the routing and floor plan on the first floor. “These substantial modifications changed the dynamics of the home and created much more interaction. Now when you cook, you are in contact with the family members at the dining table, and from the dining room you are reconnected to the living room. All these spaces flow nicely into each other,” says the creative craftsman, pointing to the beautiful steel facade with French doors as an eye-catching replacement for the removed wall between the entrance hall and the living room.
“The entrance hall and staircase are among the centerpieces of the house anyway. We stripped the staircase of its old reddish-brown color coating and grayed the wood contemporary. We also applied artistic stucco in the stairwell. This together, combined with the steel facade and the beautiful pendant lamp, creates a crazy atmosphere and look,” Eric Kant describes.
