Luxury Garden with Overflow Pool

The overflow pool sets the pace here. Its straight edge, dark waterline and clear reflection draw the eye across the paving, while the terraces step out from the house in measured layers. Around it, the garden reads as a sequence of surfaces and green frames: reused cobbles underfoot, clipped hedges at the edges, and mature trees carrying the memory of the plot’s earlier structure. The result is a luxury garden with overflow pool that is built around movement, pauses and long views.

Water as the centre of the garden

The pool is not tucked away; it occupies the middle of the composition and shapes everything around it. From the terrace near the house, the water sits in full view, with its sharp perimeter and calm surface acting as the main visual line. That choice gives the garden a clear order. Seating areas, paths and planted borders do not compete with the water. They lead toward it, frame it, or pause beside it, which is exactly what gives this garden with pool its emphasis.

Along the pool edge, the paving is kept close and direct, so the transition from terrace to water feels precise. In several views, the surface catches nearby roofs and planting, which softens the geometry without losing the structure. The pool also changes character after dark: the illuminated edge, the reflections and the lit planting turn it into a second landscape. That evening layer is part of the appeal of this lit luxury garden.

Terraces that divide the day into zones

The site is organised through a series of luxury garden terraces, each with its own relation to the villa and the pool. One terrace extends directly from the house, opening a clear route toward the water. Another sits beside the main lawn and allows a wider view across the garden. These shifts are subtle, but they matter. They let swimming, dining and lounging happen in separate pockets without breaking the overall rhythm of the layout.

Reused cobbles give the ground a familiar texture and prevent the hard landscaping from feeling overly polished. Their weathered tone sits comfortably against the cleaner lines of the pool and the more recent paving slabs. Near the house, that mix is especially visible: old material underfoot, straight terrace edges beside it, and a measured line of planting marking where one zone ends and the next begins. The garden gains depth from those small changes in surface.

Edges finished with clipped greenery

Trimmed hedges form more than a boundary here. They close off the terraces gently, shaping views without blocking them. In a trimmed hedge garden, the hedge line becomes a way of drawing rooms outside, and that is exactly what happens in this composition. The green edges soften the geometry of the paving, keep the terraces intimate, and give the pool area a sense of enclosure without making it feel narrow.

The existing trees were kept, and new characterful trees were added to strengthen the canopy and break up the larger open areas. Their trunks and crowns are visible between the terraces and the pool, adding vertical movement to a layout that is otherwise strongly horizontal. That combination of low hedges, mature trees and water gives the garden its layered look. It also keeps the eye moving from near to far, rather than stopping at one dominant feature.

Shaded places to sit, cook and stay outside

Shaded seating areas are placed where the garden needs them most. Some sit beneath shade sails, others near the fire feature, and each one uses the structure above it to define the space below. The shade sail lounge zone near the parked cars transforms that part of the plot into a more deliberate setting, rather than leaving it as a leftover strip. Elsewhere, the covered seating areas sit between trees and the terrace, where the filtered light gives the furniture a quieter frame.

The outdoor kitchen and lounge are treated as part of the garden plan, not as separate add-ons. Their position beside the terraces makes it easy to move from cooking to dining to the pool edge in a few steps. That proximity is what gives the outdoor kitchen and lounge area its weight in the project. It is close enough to the house to function naturally, but open enough to keep the garden as the main setting.

Evening light along water and planting

At night, the garden changes through controlled lighting rather than spectacle. The pool edge is defined by light, and the planted borders pick up a softer glow. The paving reads more clearly after dark because the lines are sharper, not brighter. This lit luxury garden uses that shift well. It makes the water appear deeper, brings out the hedge structure and gives the terraces a clear outline once the sun has gone down.

The more detailed images also show how the lighting works with the reflective surfaces. Water, glass and glazed openings catch the light differently, so the garden never feels flat in the evening. Instead, the illuminated pool, the dark paving and the green masses around the edges create a sequence of tones. It is a restrained approach, but one that suits the measured layout of the whole project.

A garden shaped by reuse and existing structure

What makes the composition convincing is the way new and existing elements are held together. The reused cobbles bring continuity with the site, while the old trees keep the garden connected to what was already there. Against that background, the new pool, the terraces and the shade structures feel deliberate rather than imposed. Each part has a role: water for focus, paving for movement, hedges for enclosure, and trees for scale.

Seen as a whole, this luxury garden with overflow pool is less about one grand gesture than about a series of carefully placed outdoor rooms. There is the terrace at the house, the lounge under shade, the swimming edge, the fire-side seating and the outdoor kitchen. Each zone has a clear material language and a clear relationship to the others. That is what keeps the project legible, from day to night, and from the first view of the pool to the last line of planting.
