Luxury landhuis wellness: sauna, steam cabin and dark natural stone finishing

The first thing you notice is the stone: dark slabs running from floor to ceiling, with a marble-like vein that keeps the surface from reading flat. In this home renovation, the wellness room with sauna is set up as a sequence of zones rather than one large room. A sauna, double shower, steam cabin and relax room with TV and fireplace sit close together, while bronze-tinted glass softens the transitions between them. The result is built from surfaces, light and sightlines rather than decoration.

Sauna, shower and steam in one route

The layout moves from dry heat to water and then to a quieter place to sit. The sauna is lined in wood and paired with a glass door, so the timber stays visible instead of being sealed away. Next to it, the double shower and steam room with shower area are drawn with clear glass partitions and a dark stone backdrop. That combination keeps the wellness room with sauna legible at a glance: each zone has its own edge, but the materials repeat, so the route still feels connected.

The double shower sits against the same dark stone language found elsewhere in the project. On the wall, the stone reads almost like a continuous sheet, with the veining carrying the eye upward. In the steam room with shower area, the glass enclosure does not hide the room; it frames it. Warm light catches the edges of the glass and the stone, which gives the wet zone a clear outline without making it visually heavy.

Stone from floor to ceiling

The most direct material gesture is the full-height natural stone finish. Large wall plates were lifted into the house through the roof, and that decision shows in the scale of the surfaces. They run from the floor right up to the ceiling, so there is no break in the reading of the wall. The dark stone gives the wellness room with sauna its strongest presence, especially where the light grazes the vein and reveals the depth of the material.

Bronze-tinted glass tempers the darker zones. It is not used as a loud feature, but as a filter between spaces. In the shower areas and along the glass partitions, the tint adds a slight warmth to the reflections and keeps the views from becoming too sharp. That same glass language appears in other parts of the interior too, including the stair zones seen in the imagery, where clear balustrades and reflective surfaces open up the circulation.

Visible details in the lounge corner

The relax room with TV and fireplace sits at the quieter end of the interior, where the surfaces turn from stone to softer furnishings and lower lighting. The fireplace gives the room a fixed point, while the television confirms that this is a place to stay a while rather than pass through. A freestanding washbasin appears nearby, positioned as a sculptural object against the darker finish. The wellness room with sauna is therefore not isolated; it connects to a lived-in lounge setting that keeps the interior practical without losing its calm pace.

Fitness equipment is also visible, which shifts the room from pure spa language into a broader home renovation story. The machines sit within the same material field, so they do not read as an afterthought. Wood flooring, dark stone and glazed openings keep the setting orderly, while the relaxed placement of furniture and equipment makes the space feel used rather than staged. The visual mix is straightforward: water, heat, sitting, movement, all in one interior sequence.

Light held inside a dropped ceiling

Above the stone and glass, the ceiling stays deliberately restrained. An acoustic drop ceiling lowers the room slightly and hides the technical layer behind a cleaner line. Recessed ceiling lighting traces the zones without breaking the surface, and the newest LED generation is used as part of that built-in lighting scheme. Instead of decorative fixtures, the room relies on points and lines of light that skim the stone, reflect in the glass and leave the wood surfaces readable.

Ceiling speakers are integrated into the same ceiling plane. That small detail matters because it keeps the technical equipment out of view and allows the ceiling to remain calm even when the room is full of functions. In a wellness room with sauna, that kind of restraint makes sense: the eye moves to the stone wall finish, the bronze glass and the shower enclosures, not to the devices above. The acoustic drop ceiling helps hold those layers together visually.

How the materials work from one room to the next

What ties the interior together is repetition without monotony. Dark natural stone appears in the shower zone, around the sanitary areas and in the wellness lounge, always cut as large surfaces rather than small fragments. Glass returns in partitions, doors and balustrades, keeping the routes open. Wood enters through the sauna lining, the flooring and the stair treads visible in the broader project images. These materials do not compete; they mark different uses while keeping the overall reading consistent.

The toilet area follows the same logic on a smaller scale. A white wall-hung toilet sits in front of the dark stone backdrop, and the in-wall flush plate is kept flush to the surface. That contrast of light fixture against dark wall is simple, but it underlines the project’s discipline. Even the smallest room repeats the larger ideas of the home renovation: stone, glass, concealed detailing and controlled light.

A landhuis interior built around use

This landhuis does not rely on one gesture to carry the whole story. It is built from a chain of clearly defined rooms, each with its own material cue and each able to stand next to the next without noise. The wellness room with sauna holds the centre of that idea, but the double shower, steam cabin and relax room with TV and fireplace are what make it practical as an interior sequence. Every turn reveals another surface: stone, glass, timber, light.

Seen as a home renovation, the project is less about transformation in the abstract and more about the exact way the interior is assembled. The dark natural stone wall finish gives the rooms weight. The bronze-tinted glass introduces a softer edge. The recessed ceiling lighting and ceiling speakers disappear into the acoustic drop ceiling. Together they shape a wellness environment that reads clearly in photographs and feels measured in plan, with each room serving the next.
