Large panes of glass pull the garden into the room before the kitchen even comes into focus. Then the darker elements take over: a matte black custom kitchen, a solid oak block cutting through the island, and a ceiling lined with timber slats that keeps the space visually moving. The result is less about separate rooms and more about one continuous interior, where the kitchen with garden view sits at the center of daily movement.

Glass, green, and a clear line through the house

The first impression is light. Wide glazing opens the interior toward the lawn, so the outside reads almost like part of the floor plan. That indoor outdoor glazing is not used as a backdrop only; it shapes how the room feels when you stand at the kitchen and look past the black fronts toward the garden. The contrast is direct: reflective glass, soft greenery, dark cabinetry, and oak surfaces that hold the eye.

The architecture keeps the edges firm. Rectangular window openings and a long, extended volume give the house a strong horizontal line, while the timber cladding outside continues the same material logic seen inside. Through the glass, the garden becomes a steady visual reference. It is present from almost every angle in the main living zone, which makes the kitchen read as part of a broader indoor outdoor sequence rather than a closed-off work area.

A matte black custom kitchen built around oak

At the center stands a matte black custom kitchen with oak island details that break the dark surface just enough to change the rhythm. The island is not a simple block. A solid oak element cuts through it, giving the volume a second layer and making the material shift visible at close range. That oak accent in the kitchen also softens the long black run of cabinetry without turning the composition decorative.

Several images show the same tension from different distances. From one angle, the kitchen reads as a long black line beneath the timber ceiling. From another, the oak block appears as a separate object, almost like a piece inserted through the island. The kitchen is clearly designed as a made-to-measure composition. The storage wall, the island, and the open sections around it work together as a set of custom built-in kitchen elements rather than separate objects added later. The black surfaces set the pace; the oak inserts slow it down.

Wood slat wall as divider and door

One of the strongest features is the wood slat wall, which runs with a steady vertical rhythm and continues through the interior like a spatial hinge. It works as partition and passage at the same time. In some views it reads almost like a row of binnendeuren, because the slat wood partitions/doors extend the same language across different openings. The effect is practical, but it also gives the room a strong linear order.

That rhythm is interrupted by open cabinet sections and black built-ins, so the wall never becomes a flat screen. The gaps matter. They break the repetition of the timber slats and expose the depth behind them, turning storage and circulation into part of the same composition. In combination with the matte black custom kitchen with oak island, the wall adds structure without closing off the space. It keeps sightlines loose while still giving the interior clear boundaries.

Slats, openings, and the sense of movement

Seen from the side, the slat wall feels almost architectural in the way it repeats its vertical lines. Seen head-on, it becomes more domestic, because the openings and fitted units bring it back to everyday use. This shift is what gives the interior its pace: glass on one side, timber slats in the middle, dark cabinetry at the core. The eye keeps moving from one surface to the next, and the room never settles into a single reading.

The ceiling detail reinforces that movement. Timber slats above the kitchen echo the wall treatment and draw the room lengthwise. They also make the black kitchen feel anchored, because the darker block sits below a surface with visible texture and direction. The space is quiet, but not static. The materials repeat, yet each one changes how the room is read.

Inside, the view keeps the layout open

What stands out in the wider interior is the way the glazing keeps pulling attention outward. Even when the black kitchen dominates the foreground, the garden remains present behind it. That kitchen with garden view depends on long sightlines rather than large gestures: a window line, a strip of lawn, a reflection on glass, and the edge of a timber ceiling. Together they stop the room from feeling boxed in.

The palette stays controlled. Light interior surfaces sit beside black joinery, while oak bridges the gap between them. There is no excess decoration in the room, only the repeated conversation between dark planes, warm wood, and the clear opening to the outside.
