The project is a complete interior renovation of a house that once served as a town hall, now reworked room by room with custom interior design and close input from the residents. They had bought one cabinet years earlier and returned for a full scheme, this time asking for one team to handle the total interior and project coordination. That brief shaped every space, from the kitchen to the upper-floor dressing rooms.

The kitchen as a built composition

The kitchen reads like one long built composition rather than a row of separate pieces. Shelves and fronts are finished in walnut veneer, while the wall behind them climbs all the way to the ceiling. A large island anchors the room, with a separate cooking zone and another zone for preparation. The marble worktop, made in a bookmatched layout, pulls the eye across the grain before it reaches the tall outer cabinets. In the left cabinet, a large refrigerator is hidden within the run.

Material contrast gives the room its pace. Warm timber on the floor softens the darker joinery, while the marble reflects the light from above. Ring-shaped pendants hover over the island, and their circular form repeats in the clean lines of the room. The entrance hall sets up that same sense of restraint and display. A large chandelier hangs in the middle, built in the workshop from 12 mm aluminium tube and fitted with 72 dimmable lamps. It is not a small accent but a central object, visible the moment you step inside. The light reads in layers, bright at the core and softer at the outer ring. That scale suits the former town hall setting, where the room proportions ask for something with presence and clear geometry.

Marble fireplace and a sightline through the living room

In the living room, a marble fireplace gives the space a clear focal point. It is a see-through fire, so the line of sight carries through the room instead of stopping at a single wall. The marble cladding gives the opening a defined edge and links it to the stone used elsewhere in the house. An air-conditioning unit was concealed rather than left visible, which keeps the wall plane uninterrupted. The result is less about decoration than about what the room refuses to show.

A wine cellar was also created, extending the project beyond the main living areas. It fits the same brief as the rest of the house: custom interior design that resolves practical requirements within the overall layout. Nothing feels added on. The circulation from hall to living room to storage spaces is handled through openings, built-ins and finishes that continue the material language rather than changing it for each room.

Upper-floor rooms shaped by built-in storage

On the upper floor, the laundry room has been lined and finished, giving even a utility space the same level of attention as the public rooms. Nearby, a walk-in closet was designed with a flush front and a thin frame, which keeps the volume visually light even though it stores a lot. The bench inside is finished in Alphenberg leather, a single soft note against the harder cabinet surfaces. The cabinetry sits tight to the wall, so the room reads as one measured sequence of planes and openings.

The son has his own walk-in closet and his own bathroom, and the custom work continues there with vanity furniture designed, made and installed for the room. The same approach appears in the home office, where cabinets and a desk were designed and made to fit the space exactly. The desktop is cut from one solid piece of oak, so the grain runs uninterrupted across the work surface. That single board gives the desk a clear material identity without needing extra treatment.

Storage, dressing and working spaces in the same material language

What ties these rooms together is not repetition of shape, but the way the joinery holds the architecture in place. The walk-in closet, the bathroom furniture and the office storage all use the same calm approach to edges, frames and reveals. The project does not switch style between floors. It keeps moving from marble to wood to leather to painted surfaces, with each room defined by a precise piece of built-in work. That consistency makes the upper level feel fully considered, not merely finished.
