Monastery house Bennebroek
In the former Sint Lucia Monastery in Bennebroek, Bureau Fraai created a design that transformed part of the characteristic monastery into a high-quality mansion while maintaining the characteristic features of the monastery.
The introduction of a new oak staircase with slender steel handrails connects the living level with the basement on the one hand and the children’s bedroom floor and the multi-purpose attic floor on the other. The introduction of a robust oak element in this attic floor divided the large space with authentic rafters into a sleeping area with Jacuzzi, a bathroom, a walk-in closet and a mezzanine with workstations.
The bed and Jacuzzi are included in a raised stage.
