Stepping stones in the grass add another route through the composition, lighter in appearance than the paved terrace but still tied to the overall direction. Along the paths and at the terrace edge, garden lighting marks the route after dark. The small points of light sit low to the ground, tracing the lines already drawn by the slabs and the border edges. In the evening, the garden reads in layers: water, stone, planting and light.

Flower borders that soften the frame

Beyond the pool area, flower borders begin to take over the visual weight. The planting is broad, layered and full of color, with purple and pink accents set against grasses and taller green forms. These borders do more than fill space. They break the strict outline of the terraces and turn the outer parts of the garden into something less formal. The change is gradual, so the eye keeps moving from the clean geometry near the house into a richer planting field further back.

The front stays measured and direct. The rear gives the garden room to relax, but only after the line from the house has been carried all the way through.

Light after sunset

When the garden lighting along paths comes on, the geometry remains easy to read. The low fixtures along the terrace and route edges keep the slabs and borders visible without overpowering them. Their warm points of light pick out the lines between paving, lawn and planting, and they give the pool area a more defined edge after dusk. Nothing feels overlit. The light simply follows the composition already built into the garden.

That restraint suits the setting. The farmhouse roof, brickwork and timber deck all sit within the same frame of view, but the garden never becomes static. It shifts from crisp and structured near the house to fuller and more layered toward the back.
