Thermowood facade cladding with vertical timber slats

Vertical timber slats set the tone at once, running beside dark masonry and wide glass openings. The thermowood facade cladding is carried across several planes, so the elevation reads in both horizontal bands and vertical rhythm. What holds the composition together is not a single gesture, but the way wood, brick and glass trade places from one surface to the next. Dark frames, narrow joints and crisp corners sharpen the outline of the house.

Vertical timber rhythm across multiple facade planes

The strength of the elevation lies in contrast. Dark brick sits against the thermowood facade cladding, while the vertical timber slats pull the eye upward. Between the two materials, the depth shifts slightly from one zone to the next. That becomes most visible at the corners, where the timber runs tightly along the volume and the masonry gives the wall more weight. Large windows break through that pattern as broad openings, but they do not dilute it. The facade remains legible because each material keeps its own place.

The windows are more than cut-outs in the wall. They read as wide strips that bring daylight deep into the interior, while overhangs and edge lines mark the top of the composition. In some views the wood cladding around windows sits directly against the opening; in others the brick continues below a narrow band. That change in material keeps the front elevation easy to read. Here, thermowood facade cladding acts as a calm vertical field that stretches the volume visually.

Dark brick and wood contrast

The contrast between dark brick and wood is not theatrical; it is measured and clear. The masonry appears compact, with pale joints that stay visually thin. Next to it, the vertical timber slats facade introduces a finer scale and a lighter reading of the wall surface. The difference is strongest where the two meet at the edges. Wood against stone, slender against mass, vertical against a denser block: that is what gives the facade its structure. The material boundary does the work, not decoration.

Close views underline the precision of that boundary. Around the window zone, the wood cladding around windows aligns closely with the brickwork and the dark frames. The slats stay evenly spaced, and the transitions are left visible rather than hidden. That makes the thermowood facade cladding feel integrated into the whole composition. It is not an added layer sitting on top of the house; it is part of the way the facade is built and read.

Large glazed openings with dark frames

The glazing cuts through the elevation in broad horizontal bands. Dark frames pull the window edges into the masonry and timber, so the openings do not float away from the wall. Instead, they sharpen it. In the images, the glazing often sits beside a timber field or below a brick band, which makes each part of the facade easy to follow. The result is a modern facade with wood and glass that relies on clear junctions rather than visual noise.

From a distance, the dark frames compress the large openings into neat strips. Up close, they reveal the slim edges that keep the surfaces aligned. The thermowood facade cladding remains the vertical counterpoint to those wide glass zones. It stretches the wall upward while the glazing pulls the view sideways. Together they create a steady rhythm across the long facade, especially where the house turns and the material changes carry across the corner.

Straight-lined terrace paving beside the house

Outside, the straight-lined terrace paving follows the length of the building. Concrete or stone slabs run in clear lines against the wall, making the shift from inside to outside easy to read. The terrace does not stand apart from the house; it leads along the elevation and follows the long footprint of the volume. In one view the paving continues right up to the corner, in another it changes direction around the glazed sections. That simple change of route gives the exterior a defined movement without interrupting the geometry.

A strip of lawn softens the edge of the terrace, but only just. It sits directly against the paving and the planting beds along the perimeter, so the exterior still reads in firm lines: facade, terrace, grass, border. Low planting breaks the hard edges lightly and keeps attention on the thermowood facade cladding above. The terrace becomes a clear support to the architecture, not a separate scene. Its straight joints echo the neat alignment of the timber slats and the masonry bands.

Water, paving and the reflective edge of the pool

The pool sits close to the house and pulls the sightline deeper into the garden. Its rectangular basin, tiled edges and flat perimeter create a measured foreground to the facade. Water reflects sections of timber and brick, softening the vertical lines for a moment before the paving reasserts them. Around the pool, stone or concrete slabs keep the surface level and restrained. The waterline, the coping and the paving form a three-part edge that is easy to follow from several angles.

That exterior zone is built through sightlines. From the pool, the eye moves across the terrace, up the thermowood facade cladding and toward the glazed openings. In another view, a long concrete path runs beside the wall and ties the pool area to the rear of the house. The garden does not spread out broadly; it unfolds in length. The pool becomes a pause in a sequence of wood, brick, glass and paving.

Sharp corner detailing and clean edges

The corners are where the project becomes most exact. Timber stops and starts with clear edges, brick returns cleanly across the mass, and the dark frames keep their outline. The facade never blurs at the turns. Instead, the material change marks the volume and makes its proportions easier to read. The vertical timber slats facade is especially effective here, because its narrow strips intensify the sense of height right at the point where the wall turns.

Detail images show how the materials meet around openings and under the overhangs. A wall light sits against a timber surface, small joints remain visible between the slats, and a slim band projects just above the facade line. These are modest parts, yet they decide how the whole reads. The thermowood facade cladding provides a steady backdrop for the light fixture and the planting at the edge, adding depth without adding visual clutter.

Seen in sequence, the project is built from clear alternations: vertical timber slats, dark brick, broad glazing, straight paving and the pool’s hard edge. The house acts as the frame, but the material work carries the image. Because the transitions stay sharp and the lines remain easy to trace, the exterior reads with unusual clarity. That is where this modern facade with wood and glass makes its strongest impression.
