Terrace summer and winter preparation
There are roughly 2 times of the year when we do a thorough job on the garden: spring and fall. In spring, we get the garden ready for a wonderful season of barbecues, garden parties and sunny outdoor living. In the fall, we prepare the garden and patio for a season of wet and cold. Two extremes that demand our attention! How best to proceed? Tablazz has a ready-made roadmap for you!
Getting your garden ready for summer
You have already passed the dark, cold months and the sunshine is showing itself more and more often. Time to get the garden ready for summer! This can be done approximately starting in March. We at Tablazz Unique Wood Solutions are happy to explain how best to proceed.
- Step 1: pruning & clearing
-Prim the plants as soon as it stops freezing, usually sometime in mid-March
-Remove all weeds that have developed over the winter
-Remove loose leaves and branches from the lawn and patio
-This is also the time to scarify and fertilize/seed your lawn in areas where it has been damaged. Note: scarifying should only be done after 3 years! - Step 2: plants & flowers
-Spring is THE time to put in new flowers and plants. These immediately give your patio a fun and cozy atmosphere. - Step 3: the terrace
-Remove loose leaves from the patio! Wet leaves on your patio become slippery and this can create dangerous situations.
-Clean your outdoor parquet with Woca Exterior Cleaner.
-Is your outdoor parquet turning gray and you want to de-grain it? Then use Osmo Wood Degreaser.
-If desired, you can reapply Woca Exterior Oil to the outdoor parquet after cleaning. If you want the outdoor parquet to gray, you do not need to treat it with oil after cleaning. - Step 4: furniture & decoration
-Your outdoor wooden furniture can be cleaned and finished with the same products as described above. Garden cushions on top and you are good to go!
-You can also clean and re-finish your siding in the same way. This actually applies to all wood you use outdoors.
-With lights, candles, pillows and blankets, complete the garden
-Clean the barbecue with a wire brush and you are ready for a delicious family dinner in the garden
