In-ground pool with lounge platform in a modern garden

The first thing you notice is the straight line of the water. The pool sits low in the garden, framed by large-format terrace tiles and a narrow strip of lawn that keeps the geometry clear. In this setting, the in-ground pool reads as part of the landscape rather than an object placed on top of it. The pale edge and bright blue water give the rectangular shape a strong outline, while the adjoining terrace keeps the route around the basin open and direct.

Rectangular lines, a lounge platform and a clear edge

With dimensions of 1070 by 350 by 150 cm, the basin has a long, narrow profile that suits the site well. A lounge platform of 350 by 150 cm interrupts the water line and creates a place where the surface becomes usable, not only visible. That platform also gives the pool a second pace: one side for swimming, one side for sitting close to the water. The result is a built-in pool that makes use of its full length without losing the calm of a simple rectangle.

The edge detail matters here. The terrace runs tightly along the pool perimeter, and the large tiles keep the surface around the water legible. There is no visual clutter at the transition from paving to pool wall. The pool terrace edge remains crisp, which allows the light grey reinforced liner to do its work quietly in the background. Its tone softens the hard outline and lets the water color stay central.

Light, water and the evening layer

RGB LED lighting is built into the pool, and that changes the way the basin will read after sunset. During the day, the water reflects the sky in a flat sheet of blue; in the evening, the light can shift the surface into a more graphic element. Because the pool form is so rectilinear, the lighting has a clear frame to work within. A pool with RGB LED lighting depends on that clarity, and this one gives it.

The visual impression is restrained rather than busy. The technical features stay mostly hidden, so the waterline, the liner and the paved border carry the composition. Even the interior finish is kept in one light tone, which avoids drawing attention away from the shape. In a garden like this, light is not treated as decoration. It becomes another layer on the pool surface itself.

Filtration and temperature are built into the layout

Behind the clean surface lies a set of components that keep the pool running as intended: a pool management system, a filtration installation with AFM and ACO, a full inverter heat pump and an Aquadeck lamella cover. The mention of drinking water filtration is especially notable. It signals that the technical side of the project is set up with a precise standard in mind, even if the machinery itself stays out of sight. A pool control system like this is part of the project’s structure, not an add-on.

The heat pump and cover work together with the basin shape and the terrace edge. Nothing here is oversized. Each element follows the same controlled language as the rest of the design. The cover keeps the water protected when the pool is not in use, while the full inverter heat pump supports the seasonal use of the basin. That combination fits the measured proportions of the in-ground pool and keeps the surrounding terrace free of visual distractions.

A terrace, a poolhouse and an overhang

One side of the garden is anchored by a poolhouse-like structure with brick piers and timber cladding. The material contrast is direct: rougher masonry below, smooth wood above and around the covered zone. Under the overhang, a lounge area sits partly in shade, with cushions visible in the interior view. It is not a separate room in the usual sense. Instead, it extends the terrace line and gives the pool a sheltered pause beside the water.

The connection between the pool and this structure is one of the most readable parts of the project. From several angles, the roofline and the support piers define the edge of the lounge area, while the pool remains fully open to the garden. This is where a pool with lounge platform becomes more than a technical description. The platform, terrace and covered zone together create a sequence of uses, all set against the same rectilinear water basin.

Wood, brick and the sheltered seating zone

Close views show how the timber surface sits against the brickwork. The wood panels run horizontally across the shaded volume, and the brick piers break the mass into smaller parts. That keeps the structure from feeling heavy, even though it is clearly substantial. The overhanging roof projects a shadow line across the terrace, and that shadow is one of the few strong contrasts in the garden. It frames the seating area without closing it in.

Inside the covered zone, the cushions and bench-like seating confirm that the space is meant for staying, not just passing through. The poolhouse structure works as a companion to the water, not as a separate building in the background. Its position beside the basin also helps organize the whole garden composition: lawn on one side, paving around the pool, and the sheltered lounge zone set back under the roof.

How the garden frames the water

The wider garden stays deliberately open. A trimmed lawn edges the paved area, and the planting beds remain low and narrow, so the eye continues to the pool and the adjacent structure. This matters in an image set where overhead views and diagonal perspectives both show the same order: a rectangular basin set inside a rectangular terrace field. The garden does not compete with the pool. It gives it room, and then stops.

Seen from above, the composition becomes even clearer. The pool sits almost like a measured cut-out in the terrace, with the lounge platform, cover and support structure placed to one side. The surrounding paving creates a clean frame, while the lawn softens the outside border. In a modern garden with pool, that balance depends less on ornament than on proportion, and here the proportion is doing most of the work.

What stays with you after the first glance is the order of the whole arrangement: straight water, pale paving, shaded seating, then lawn and borders. The project does not rely on gesture. It relies on precise lines, visible materials and a series of practical choices that are easy to read in the photographs. That is why the in-ground pool feels fully embedded in the site. Every part around it reinforces the same clear spatial idea.
