Apartment with Sea View and a Subtle Play of Light and Shadow

At the far end of the room, the sea takes over the view. A broad window pulls the horizon into the apartment, while beige curtains soften the edges of the glass and keep the daylight moving gently across the floor. The result is an apartment with sea view that feels measured rather than showy, with every surface kept close to the light.

From a narrow arrival to a room opened toward the horizon

The route starts in a plain hallway and opens directly into the living area, where the view changes the scale of the interior at once. What was once a studio is now a one-bedroom apartment of 40 m², and the planning is easy to read in the way the space unfolds. The seating zone, kitchen and window line sit in one field, so the eye moves from the timber floor to the sea without interruption. It is an apartment with sea view that uses its outlook as part of the layout, not as decoration.

Natural tones set the pace. Cream, sand beige and pale wood keep the surfaces quiet, while the darker line of a shadow at the ceiling edge gives the room a sharper outline. The palette is restrained, but not flat: the grain of the built-in joinery, the soft drape of the curtains and the matte painted walls all register differently as daylight changes. That light and shadow interior quality is strongest near the windows, where reflections from the water seem to land on the floor.

Built-in storage shapes the room without crowding it

The custom built-in cabinets are not treated as a separate furniture layer. They run along the walls with vertical veneer rhythm, so the joinery reads as part of the architecture. Repeated lines bring order to the room and prevent the smaller floor area from feeling fragmented. In one of the wall compositions, a niche and framed opening break the surface into smaller sections, adding depth without adding weight. These details are visible, but they do not compete with the view.

Symmetry appears in the way the interior is composed, from the arrangement of wall planes to the placement of decorative elements. A pair of elongated artworks reaches close to the ceiling, echoing the room height and pulling the eye upward. Below them, the storage fronts and wall breaks are kept disciplined and even. The effect is subtle, but clear: the apartment with sea view is organized around lines, not objects. Every line seems to point back toward the water.

A living kitchen kept open to the light

The open plan living kitchen is compact, but it reads as a single continuous field. The kitchen wall uses pale cabinetry and a stone-like worktop, with a hanging lamp marking the work zone. From the seating area, the surfaces remain calm and uninterrupted, so the kitchen does not pull attention away from the panoramic window living room. Instead, the cook space sits beside the view, letting the sea remain the main visual anchor even when the room is in use.

Near the worktop, the details are precise rather than expressive: straight joints, a visible sink position, and a dark accent wall that sets off the lighter cabinet fronts. The contrast is gentle, yet it keeps the kitchen from dissolving into the surrounding wall color. The same is true of the curtains. Their beige folds frame the window opening and slow the light before it reaches the living area, which makes the apartment feel more settled in the afternoon than it does at full midday glare.

Material changes you can read at a glance

Wood appears in more than one register here. The floor has a bleached tone that catches the daylight, while the cabinets shift toward a warmer, finer grain. The wall and ceiling finishes stay pale, so the room is held together by low contrast rather than strong color. That approach gives the interior with sea view a quiet hierarchy: glass first, then light surfaces, then the darker edges that define the joinery and the ceiling line. Nothing is overdrawn, yet the room never feels unfinished.

In the sleeping area, a niche-like arrangement keeps the bed zone visually separate without closing it off. A wall light sits inside the composition, and the surrounding surfaces stay close to the same beige and brown family used elsewhere. This makes the apartment read as one continuous interior, even though it is divided into different functions. The move from living area to sleeping zone is restrained and compact, which suits the 40 m² footprint and keeps the apartment with sea view easy to read from one end to the other.

Daylight, shadow lines and the slow rhythm of the evening

Diffuse daylight enters through the slight curve of the building, softening the room before it reaches the curtains and the cabinet fronts. The shadows along the junction between wall and ceiling are part of the design, not an accident of construction. They give the apartment a fine line of separation that becomes more visible as the light shifts. In the evening, the lighting plan moves toward a dimmer, gentler level, and candlelight is part of that mood. The room does not brighten for effect; it settles.

That restraint is what gives the apartment with sea view its character. The panorama, the pale materials and the measured light all work on the same scale, so the interior never fights the horizon outside. Instead, the room stays close to the window, the floor and the built-in elements, letting small changes in daylight do most of the work. It is a compact interior, but the window, the shadows and the storage walls give it enough depth to feel composed throughout the day.

The project ends where it began: at the window, with the sea beyond the glass and the room held in a quiet frame of beige curtains, pale timber and sharp wall edges. Seen from the seating area, the whole apartment reads as a sequence of controlled moves rather than a single gesture. That is what makes this apartment with sea view memorable: not volume for its own sake, but the way the room keeps returning to light, shadow and horizon.
