BeoLab 50: Powerful excellence and perfect balance

Bang & Olufsen’s new peerless speaker delivers superior sound and has a stylish design. It is the ideal speaker for those precious moments when you want to pause the world around you so you can enjoy the moment to the fullest.

The BeoLab 50 is Bang & Olufsen’s first loudspeaker to emerge directly from the prestigious and innovative BeoLab 90, which defined an entirely new standard for state-of-the-art loudspeakers.

The extraordinary performance of the BeoLab 50 is due to the uncompromising acoustic research and technological development of the BeoLab 90, an iconic, groundbreaking loudspeaker whose several features are also integrated into the BeoLab 50.

The new BeoLab 50 delivers exceptional performance thanks to innovative sound control technologies and a unique design that gives you exactly what you need. The striking design of the speaker reflects the technologies that were used, and fits perfectly into any interior.

High-quality device in a lightweight format

The BeoLab 50’s enclosure is slim, long and rounded by floating lines and exposed edges. Silver-polished, aluminum surfaces and slats of warm oak are recognizable trademarks of Bang & Olufsen products.

The lower part of the speaker is designed to look as if the speaker is floating above the floor, so the speaker in the middle always looks light and open. “The BeoLab 50 has a light and refined balance. The speaker’s impressive base is relatively small, allowing it to fit into almost any interior,” said designer André Poulheim.

Advanced sound customization
The BeoLab 50 also uses groundbreaking Active Room Compensation technology. Using an external microphone, BeoLab 50 measures the physical acoustic environment and then adjusts the compensation filters in such a way that the sound is optimal for your listening position or throughout the room.

The unique Acoustic Lens Technology, a Bang & Olufsen feature that ensures sound dispersion of higher frequencies, is integrated at the top of the speaker. The lens distributes sound via Beam Width Control in a 180-degree sound mode for social occasions such as a party or movie, or in a narrow mode to reach a particular listening position.

When the BeoLab 50 is turned on, the lens rises in an elegant and controlled motion. The lens is slightly illuminated so that it is subtly visible both during the day and at night.

Wireless excellence
The Bang & Olufsen App allows you to control the BeoLab 50, and the app helps you set and select different listening preferences with respect to your listening position and preferences.

All BeoLab 50 speakers are connected to each other via Digital Power Link in a master/slave configuration with sound sources added to the system via the master speaker’s extended connection panel. In addition to the wire connection, the BeoLab 50 also features wireless technology by using multi-channel digital audio streaming (based on WiSA technology) with very powerful operation.

The BeoLab 50 is a 2,100-watt active loudspeaker and will be available at selected Bang & Olufsen stores from the end of August 2017 for €13,295 each.
