Dauby is an importer of exclusive door, window and furniture hardware from Europe. Because we always respond to your needs, we have expanded our collections with a wide range of bathroom and kitchen accessories, metal tiles, tealight holders and scent dispensers. All of this is made from the same natural materials and cast in sand molds. We offer you a complete package, so your interior can be furnished entirely in one consistent style.

Retro
Each product is unique
Dauby’s Retro range is completely handcrafted. First, the metal is cast in sand molds, a technique that was already used 3,000 years before Christ, after which the products are hand-finished. The sand casting process gives the hardware a grainy surface and therefore small imperfections. As a result, every piece is unique and has an artisanal aged look.
A centuries-old tradition
Dauby works with natural materials such as bronze, white bronze, brittanium and wrought iron. These metal alloys have been used by craftspeople for centuries and are not only durable, but also recyclable. Over time, the metal develops a patina. The same rule applies as with fine wine: the older it gets, the better it becomes.
When it comes to materials too, Dauby is a trendsetter; hardware in brass and chrome can be seen everywhere. Dauby moved away from these “cold” materials quite some time ago and innovated by introducing age-old traditional materials into the world of door hardware.
Innovative materials
In addition, we have created a number of new and unique finishes for your interior: raw bronze and raw metal. These raw finishes are available exclusively in the Pure collection and give the hardware a pure, rugged and robust look that fits seamlessly with industrial design. Dauby is also innovative because of its unique concept of merging tradition and design. Dauby draws inspiration from an important turning point in history: the transition from the traditional to modernity.
The rise of design
At the beginning of the 20th century, the design movement gained momentum, led by the influential school of Staatliches Bauhaus, a school that changed the world and spread modernist thinking worldwide. The most important characteristics of this design movement were the unity of form and function, and a simple, clear style intended for industrial production. The machine, industry and the concept of mass production entered this period, and Bauhaus believed that artists and industry should work together.
Dauby’s innovative style
Dauby reimagines design models from this period by producing them entirely by hand, using techniques dating back to approximately 3000 BC. Dauby therefore unites two completely opposite ideas: the contrast between sober, pure design and the authentic look of sand casting.
This gives the product character, making it stand out from mass-produced items, of which our current throwaway society already has enough. We fully respond to the trend of cherishing authenticity, of objects passed down from generation to generation and valued more and more over time.
Design
In addition to an extensive range of retro hardware, Dauby also offers a broad design collection with models created by top designers. Well-known names such as Philippe Starck, Dirk Ploos van Amstel, Hannes Wettstein, Enrico Baleri, Ricardo Dalisi, Marcello Cutino, Fabrizio Cester, Brian Sironi and Luigi Baroli are the designers behind the door and window hardware in our design collection. The clean lines and materials such as chrome, nickel and stainless steel bring class and refinement to your interior.
But Dauby is not standing still when it comes to design either. Italian design keeps innovating and continuously brings a wide range of new finishes to market.
