Gaggenau launches advanced Vario 400 series worktop extractor

Visibly minimalist, maximally efficient.

Gaggenau, the luxury brand for high-quality and professional built-in appliances, presents the exceptional 400 Series worktop extractor: a quiet and unobtrusive appliance that effectively keeps the kitchen and surrounding living space free of cooking odors and fumes. The unit works perfectly in combination with all Vario 400 series cooktops, making it possible to design a fully customized cooking space. Gaggenau pioneered the worktop extractor in Europe in 1976 and has since perfected the design, keeping up with the ever-changing culinary culture, including kitchens and living spaces that gradually transition into a unique space made for relaxation.

The modular 400 series worktop extractor works perfectly with the Vario 400 series cooktops, allowing the cooking surface to be tailored to the ideal culinary scenario with plenty of variety and endless combination possibilities. Extraction is controlled using Gaggenau ‘s superior and professional front-mounted stainless steel control knobs that are in line with the control knobs on the other Vario cooktops in the 400 series. With their ergonomic design, the precise and intuitive control buttons ensure that the home chef always maintains direct control over the appliance.

The worktop extractor is finished in stainless steel and can be flush or surface mounted. For seamless integration, the worktop extractor can be mounted with frameless induction cooktops. Or with design-frame cooktops such as electric grill, teppanyaki, gas cooktop, gas or induction wok that enable performance cooking with large cookware up to 32 cm wide, offering the user limitless possibilities. The subtle and elegant addition to the cooking surface is essential in an open, modern kitchen and does not create a barrier between the home chef and his guests.

During operation, the worktop extractor effectively extracts steam, odor and vapor directly at the source before they penetrate the room. The combination of the optimized design of the inner frame, double V-shaped filter, the high-performance fans and a larger width of up to 15 cm, provides an all-around powerful extraction with a high vapor collection rate, even when operating at low power.

The Vario worktop extractor can be set to an intuitive automatic function, controlling its own power during the cooking process. The intelligent, sensitive and hyper-reactive air quality sensor detects odor, reacts to vapor and quietly sucks it out of the room, with the lowest possible energy level. The automatic function effortlessly and silently takes over air quality control, allowing the home chef to concentrate on creating exceptional dishes.

The double grease filter in the extractor ensures perfect capture of grease and particles, leaving no residue in the housing. The housing of the device is made of anodized aluminum. The construction provides the smoothest possible surface for easy cleaning and offers unparalleled hygiene. The design of the grease filter cartridge ensures that it stays upright when placed on the worktop, giving the user minimal contact with grease and contaminated surfaces. The double grease filter is easy to remove thanks to two ergonomic handles and a guided outlet that prevents oil spillage from the integrated grease reservoir. The grease filter is also dishwasher safe, minimizing the time and effort required to maintain the appliance.

The Vario 400 series worktop extractor is equipped with Home Connect, giving the home cook more freedom by controlling his/her appliance online. The integration of Home Connect ensures that the device always remains central to the increasingly digital home.

Sven Baacke, Head of Design, Global Brand Gaggenau, says: “The Vario 400 series worktop extractor is proof of the Gaggenau difference. The modularity of the appliance makes it suitable for any kitchen scenario, as one can realize the ideal kitchen workspace. The kitchen is the space made for preparing food and for inspiring conversations – the advanced noise reduction and superior air extraction attest to this.”

The difference is Gaggenau.
