Building a home is a dream for many, but realizing this dream can also put you to the test. The residents of this newly built home on the outskirts of Baarle Nassau can talk about that. With a baby on the way and both having demanding jobs, it’s quite a challenge to keep everything on track.

The moment they enter Meijs Wonen, the basics are in place. Now they can get to the fun part: the decorating. Having already chosen a deep blue concrete floor and olive green curtains, they are now looking for a solution for the living room. The spacious kitchen already has a dining area; the living room is a blank canvas.

Together with stylist Leonie, they arrive at the decision to divide the living room through the placement and shape of the sofa. Two separate seating areas are now created. Part of the couch goes towards TV and the other part is a sitting area where they can also sit with visitors. That part overlooks the spacious garden. A special fabric with a woven pattern is chosen for the armchair, and a matching footstool is sought for it. The various side tables provide the finishing touches.

“I never imagined that a well-appointed house could bring so much pleasure and living enjoyment,” said the resident. “I get happy with the results every day.”
