Apartment Vondelstraat
The property
A neglected three-layer apartment of approx. 300 m2. A partly suspended ceiling, glass interior doors and various floor finishes divide the space. However, the location offers a phenomenal view of the Vondelpark, Vondelkerk and the famous residence of Rijksmuseum architect Pierre Cuypers.
Desire of the client
We would like a modern, comfortable family apartment. Everything can be addressed, but the stately feeling of the Vondelstraat must also be experienced indoors.
Concept
The Neo-classic atmosphere of this apartment is mainly in the spectacular ceiling. The space is completely cleared and the stucco ceiling restored. A new fireplace placed on the original location, again gives a focus. We break open the corridor as a traffic area. There is now daylight everywhere. The hallway continues into the kitchen. This expands considerably, because a hanging construction part has been added.
View of the park and Cuypershuis
The master suite occupies the entire floor above. The sleeping area is separated from a small lounge by a bathroom, surrounded by wardrobes. From the bath we create a view of the park and the Cuypershuis.
