It is a lovely garden to sit in. Both on the spacious dining terrace and under the cozy porch. “Just last week we sat here with friends until as late as one in the morning!” the lady of the house tells us. Brabant coziness in Someren.
Enjoyment on all terraces
The dining table with eight chairs connects to the kitchen of the main house. A beautiful rectangle of modern ceramic tiles by Trivium Ceramics can accommodate as many as eight to 10 people. The parasol is neatly anchored underground and can be adjusted to any position you wish. The ceramic tiles are also found under the covered patio. This porch is constructed of plaster walls of Luxcom in the color anthracite. The woodwork adds a lot of atmosphere and consists of narrow slats of Red Cedar. To sit outside into the late hours, a gas fireplace has been installed. Included in the ceiling are two infrared heat emitters.
Pond as a connection
Both terraces are connected by an elongated pond flanked by colorful borders. These borders are planted with perennials and ornamental grasses. In the photo, Salvia, Nepeta, Alchemilla and Astrantia bloom. The line of sight opens onto a characteristic water feature. In the black stucco block is laid a stainless steel lip from which water flows into the pond. On the block is usually a nice bowl or flower arrangement.
Retain large beech
The large beech tree has stood in this backyard for many years and is a real mood enhancer. This tree is brilliantly lit at night by a large LED spotlight buried in the split. Of course the tree also gives some nuisance, but it gives the garden a lot of character! To enhance the forest-like character, large groups of rhododendrons were planted.
