Country villa with large pavers and corten steel accents

The first thing that catches the eye is the run of large light grey pavers set against the riet roof and the darker lines of the glazing. The house sits low and broad, while the garden spreads out in layers of grass, borders and hard surfaces. The result is a country garden with large pavers that lets each material keep its own place: stone underfoot, planting at the edge, and corten steel used where the lines need a little weight.

Thatched roof, deep glazing and a clear arrival route

From the front, the route to the house is marked by a gravel driveway at villa level and a formal line of paving that leads toward the entrance. The gravel softens the approach, while the larger stone elements give the arrival area more presence. Dark window frames sit beneath the riet roof, and the pale walls keep the composition calm. Seen from this side, the country garden with large pavers already shows its main idea: a measured sequence of textures rather than a single surface stretched across the plot.

That same sequence returns in the paving around the entrance. The larger slabs are set in clear bands, with planted edges and clipped greenery close to the path. The house does not stand apart from the garden; it is entered through it. Even the transition from gravel to stone feels deliberate, because the change in grain and scale prepares the move toward the front door.

A raised terrace set among planting borders

At the back, the raised terrace in the backyard acts almost like a platform among the greenery. It sits just above the surrounding lawn and planting borders along terrace edges, so the surface reads as a place to pause rather than a heavy extension of the house. The large light grey patio slabs keep the terrace visually open, while the borders pull the eye outward with different leaf shapes, pale stems and a few stronger accents of colour.

The planting itself is varied enough to keep the scene moving through the seasons. Broad leaves stand beside finer foliage, and low borders are repeated along the terrace so the hard edge never feels abrupt. This garden with varied foliage uses repetition in a restrained way: the same pale paving appears in several zones, but the planting changes from one bed to the next. That keeps the terrace connected to the rest of the garden without flattening the view.

Corten steel garden accents beside water and borders

Corten steel garden accents appear in several parts of the layout, including the water feature and the planters. Their rust-red tone sits well against the light paving and the green mass of the borders. Instead of being used as a decorative flourish, the steel gives shape to the garden: it outlines a basin, frames a planting bed, or marks a change in level. Those darker edges help the lighter slabs read more clearly.

Up close, the contrast is even sharper. A concrete or stone border meets large leaves at one point, while at another the planting drops back behind a straight steel edge. These details matter because the garden relies on edges. The materials do not blur into one another; they meet in neat transitions that keep the large surfaces readable.

Large paving slabs that hold the composition together

The country garden with large pavers depends on proportion as much as on material. The slabs are generous in size, so the terrace and the access routes feel steady rather than busy. Their light grey colour ties the different parts of the plot together: the entrance paving, the terrace and the smaller walks all belong to the same family, even when their setting changes. Against the many greens, the stone becomes a quiet baseline.

That effect is strongest where the paving meets the borders. The eye moves from slab to leaf, from leaf to lawn, and then back again. A row of ornamental grass near a concrete edge adds a finer texture, while broader foliage softens the harder lines elsewhere. The garden never reduces itself to one fixed scene; it shifts as you follow the surfaces from the front drive to the rear terrace.

A country villa framed by lawn, fence and long views

A country villa with large pavers needs more than a neat terrace to feel complete. Here, the lawn, the low planting and the country-style garden fence help the plot read as deeper than it may actually be. The fence does not draw attention to itself, but it supports the idea of a garden that opens outward. Combined with the water element and the layered planting, it gives the rear of the plot a long, almost uninterrupted line.

That sense of space comes from the way the materials are kept in check. There are no abrupt changes in colour or scale, only gradual shifts: from gravel to stone, from stone to planting, from planting to lawn. The raised terrace, the corten steel accents and the large pavers keep returning as reference points, so the garden feels settled without becoming static. It is a composition built from clear parts, each one visible in the photographs.

Details that reward a slower look

The best details are the ones that reveal how carefully the edges are drawn. Along the walkways, the paving is trimmed by low borders and occasional planting pockets, and the path lines stay sharp even where the greenery grows dense. The entrance zone has a more formal feel, but the rear garden is softer, with more leaf variation and looser planting close to the terrace. Together they show how a country garden with large pavers can move between order and abundance without changing its material language.

Seen in fragments, the project is all about contact points: a leaf against a concrete edge, a steel planter beside pale slabs, gravel meeting a threshold, grass pressing close to the terrace. Those small shifts are what give the villa its outdoor setting its character. The house, the garden and the hard landscaping are read as one route, one series of surfaces, and one clearly defined frame for daily use.
