Country kitchen in listed farmhouse
Looking inside Scherpenzeel
Thanks to a thorough renovation, this monumental farmhouse from 1874 has been transformed into a beautiful residence. Of course, elements of earlier times had to be preserved, and they succeeded. For example, you can see the history in the old beams and the tiles in the hall. Even in the kitchen, the residents and the kitchen designer took into account the appearance of the listed building. For example, wooden materials are evident in the fronts and bar area, as well as in the support beams around the kitchen.
The use of color in this spacious island kitchen also contributes to the country style of yesteryear. A green color was chosen for the fronts, which recurs on the doors in the kitchen and hallway. This front color breathes the atmosphere of yesteryear.
The residents and the kitchen designer chose natural materials in this kitchen. In addition to the fronts, which by the way are sprayed in color, the wall unit and island feature a composite countertop. The kitchen countertop features a polished finish and is from our special Velthuizen Select collection. The Quooker boiling water faucet is finished in brass patina. Patina is a layer created on brass by oxidation, which can cause the faucet to become locally lighter or darker brown over the years. Think of it as a good bottle of wine: give it time to mature and it will become more and more beautiful.
The handles are the same material as the Quooker and fit beautifully into this generous kitchen. The complete appliance set is from Pelgrim and includes an induction cooktop and multifunction oven with microwave. The latter is placed in the tall cabinet, which extends to the ceiling. All in all, a perfect overall picture was created.
